Can’t speak for a Conservative or Orthodox rabbi, but a Reform rabbi would probably laugh at your quetion. Just sayin’ is all.
I’d also wager that Yom Kippur would absolve one of whatever ‘unclean molecules’ one had anyways.
Not a problem on two counts.
(1) Kosher laws apply to eating. So, one could take injections made of non-kosher ingredients if necessary.
(2) Saving a life overrides kosher laws. So, a Jewish patient could receive a heart transplant from anyone, regardless of whether or not they were Jewish or kept kosher.

On the OP: Zev, I’ve said it before, they’re always going to hate us. I don’t know what the hell we can do about it except keep working to stop it and stay well prepared…just in case.
Not unlike me in this small town. It took me more than six months here to tell anyone I was a jew. If there’s anything we learn quickly…when you’re totally outnumbered, keep your head down.

I know this sounds totally illogical and crazy, but I can “accept” that there are those that hate us for no reason whatsoever; I don’t expect everyone to like us as a group or as individuals. But the outright lying and demonizing really bothers me. I hate Nazis for more good reason than some people hate us, but I don’t go around stating that the Nazis ate Jewish children for breakfast.

Yeah, but they’re never going to listen to reason. The only thing we can objectively do is to provide counter examples and hope it gets noticed.
On the other hand, it’s my experience that people who would believe such things rarely get to the level of actual effectiveness. So one can hope it’s a self-limited phenomenon.

I used to think that the only sane places in the world for Jews to live were the US and Isreal. After reading your post I’m no longer too sure about the US.
Shit, I haven’t been too sure about the US for a while now.
I’m not saying that this is a BAD place for a jew to live. Far from it. But it’s a natural precaution that, when one is the ONLY jew for miles and miles and surrounded by a population who’s first question upon meeting someone new in town is ‘Which church will you be attending?’, one makes sure not to make any sudden moves.
In truth, very few people have remarked on it (other than some obligitory ‘no wonder you’re so good in business’ or ‘no wonder you’re in the media’ thing) and I’m out of the closet on it here now.
Until you and others like you “accept” the fact that vast numbers of Israelis (and Jews around the world) have an illogical and irrational hatred as well, then it is unlikely that any kind of accord will be found.
I have seen so much hatred from both sides – hatred that makes little sense and has little basis in reality, yet carries great rationalization about the root cause – yet it seems only Palestinians need to “love their children more than they hate us”? How ridiculously patronizing, hypocritical and simplistic.
When some of you folks accept the fact that there is hatred in your hearts founded from some of the same bullshit “reasoning”, and take responsibility for said hatred, then you can take the higher ground. Otherwise this type of thread is just bullshit propaganda.
Btw, here is an article from the Jerusalem Post relaying a study of some of the attitudes and shining behaviours of Israelis towards Arabs. Hope you don’t mind including both sides of despicable, bigoted, hateful behaviour in your thread.
