And this describes someone how?

I was watching the CBC yesterday (World Curling) and one of the curlers was described as “a real pepper pot".

Anyone know what that means? It’s completely outside of my experience and aside from hot and spicy makes no sense.

Guess it’s supposed to mean they’re all full of fire - perhaps to the point of hyperactive, or a “hot temper”

Here’s another sport-related cite calling someone a pepperpot. Oddly, there’s a little glossary at the botom, describing just about every other odd phrase, but not pepperpot.

Probably a reference to Monty Python’s Pepperpot characters - middle aged or older women with sort of a pepperpot shape (round and squat) wearing a housecoat or having curlers in her hair.

I can’t find a blasted picture right now :frowning: Are you familiar with Python at all?

So we’ll go with fiesty I guess. There weren’t too many women with curlers (HA!) in their hair on TV.

That’s true, but it’s rather obscure for this reference (even fans of the show don’t know that’s what the old ladies were referred to; it’s only mentioned in anciliary materials like scripts and program guides). They undoubtedly meant “fiery.”
