Animated "Comic Relief" character that you DON'T hate?

It’s not too odd a question, but I’ll post it anyway.

To start with, this topic was inspired by a quote on Seanbaby’s “Superfriends” site. (Which I won’t like to because of some…ah, “non-work safe” content.) Specifically, the page about the “Wonder Twins”…

Too true, in my opinion. I mean, how many animated movies and TV shows have we all seen that had a “funny” character who we all wish would get thrown into a wheat thresher? On camera?

So, I figured that it would make a shorter, more concise list if I asked “What animated Comic-Relief chara do you NOT hate” than asking who everyone DOES hate. I mean, Scrappy-Doo alone would take up a few hundred thousand words, alone.

So, my suggestions? Um…give me a second…Oh! I kow:

B.E.N. from Treasure Planet
He surprised me. I was SURE that I’d end up hating him, but he really wasn’t that bad at all. I can’t explain it.
•**Jeremy ** from The Secret of NIMH
It’s not that he’s a great character, it’s just that he just spend a lot of time onscreen. Which was a relief, believe me.
So, any others?

Best comedy character ever, Genie from Aladdin. Ok, not exactly a minor character but still a neat semi-phenomial, nearly cosmic powered guy.

Close runner up: Wakko from Animaniacs. His accent is so cute!

GIR

Alphagene got mine. GIR from Invader Zim. “Why is his head so BIG?”

Agent Pleakley from Lilo & Stitch. Actually, just about everything from Lilo and Stitch worked instead of feeling like a stupid pandering to the Disney formula.

As much as I hate to say it, Mushu from Mulan had some pretty good lines.

I liked both the monkey (Abu?) and the parrot (voiced by Gilbert Gottfried) in Aladdin.

Thats a second vote for Iago in Aladdin. Classic Disney villain sidekick. Mind you, I think that Aladdin is the greatest Disney movie of all time…

Why, Jar Jar Binks, of course. Everybody loves Jar Jar!

<ducking and running>

Timon and Puumba from The Lion King. They actually sang 2 Academy nominated songs (in the director’s cut, they sang the award-winning love song).

Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop. She’s annoying to the other characters, but miraculously, not to the audience.

Morroco Mole from Secret Squirrel
Henry the Chicken Hawk from Looney Tunes
Sylvester’s son from Looney Tunes
Hikaru from Kimagure Orange Road
Night Wind, Beasal, and Katy the cat from Unico
The Pterydactyl from Land Before Time
The bat (Batty Koda?) and Goanna from “Fern Gully”
Pee Wee from Bebe’s kids
King Louie from Disney’s “The Jungle Book”
The Palidinly dog creature and the troll? from Labyrinth (Does animatronics count?)
The Rock Biter from “Neverending Story”
Gonzo from the Muppets
Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street

I found the names of the character from “Labyrinth” they are Ludo and Didymus

Edward from Cowboy Bebop wasn’t annoying despite being a female anime child.

Marc

I liked Gandhi from Clone High.

Perhaps we have different definitions of comic relief? To me, that indicates a humorous character in an otherwise mostly non-humorous work. While Wakko, say, or the Chicken Hawk, are certainly not annoying, I’m not sure they qualify as comic relief.

And the Rock Biter wasn’t annoying, either, but he was just as serious as anyone else. What’s comic about him?

This is high heresy, I know, but I liked Jar-Jar Binks.

[submits quietly to hideous tortures]

Donkey in Shrek. Sure, he’s a major character, but most of his purpose is comic relief, and the way Eddie Murphy voiced him was pure genius.

Psyduck from Pokemon. They overused him at first, but how can’t you love those big vacant eyes.

Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks. Snoogians.

Mike Wazowski, Monsters Inc.

Boomhauer

Best. Character. Ever.
