There is some bad animated films that should be pwned by this show
Heavy Metal
The Animatrix - some of it was interesting, but all of it is snark-worthy.
An American Tail (Fievel)
Pinocchio in Outer Space
Most of Don Bluth’s later work.
Felidae. (
)
Momotaro’s Divine Sea Warriors. The very first full-length anime film!
It’s Jim Henson’s Band of Brothers Babies!
You beat me to it – that’s what I came in here to say. The turtle (voiced in the American version by Arnold Stang) is named DV8 – they ought to have a field day with that.
They might also do Alakazam the Great, a bit of anime that pre-dates Astro-Boy, and was released with Frankie Avalon (!) doing the lead.
And the French fantasy Jeannot l’Intrepide, which is pretty good but pretty weird. It’s definitely [i[French*.
This is a joke, right? PLEASE tell me this is a joke!
Oh, hell - anything Bakshi did is fair game. But mostly Wizards.
How did I miss that? Wizard did it.
Sad to day, nope:

I actually paid money to see this at a Saturday matinee when I was a kid.
Here’s the ttrailer:
Actually, this reminds me of another candidate for this thread – Gulliver’s Travels Beyond the Moon. Again, I kid you not. I saw this one at a matinee, too. It’s Japanese in origin:

I’d like to nominate his version of The Hobbit. That turned me off of Tolkien for years.
CalMeacham, that’s just sick.
Bakshi didn’t do The Hobbit. It was a made for TV Special by Rankin-Bass.
Who also made The Return of the King for TV. Interestingly enough, iy “completes” Bakshi’s lord of the Rings.
Oh that’s right! I couldn’t remember who did it. I just remember that it sucked donkey balls.
If you’re into MST3K type commentary on animated films, I highly recommend the Nostalgia Critic.
He does reviews of many films aimed at children from the 80s and 90s, and, (imho) they are hilarious.
And it is from the Nostalgia Critic that you will learn that there are, in fact, TWO animated Titanic movies.

Well… “completes” is such a strong word. It doesn’t pick up where Bakshi left off.
It only covers Minas Tirith and Sam and Frodo. Argorn doesn’t show up until the very end and Legolas and Gimli don’t appear at all.
The Legend Of The Titanic
It’s batshit insane. In the end, the Titanic is saved by a giant octopus with the head of a baby.
