How about one of those ambiguously gay Gundam Wing boys?
I never thought them as being ambiguously gay, myself. Just kind of ambiguously not-straight…
I absolutely LOVE Soryu Asuka Langley
or is it Asuka Soryu Langley?
or is it Langley at all?
Okay whatever. That hot redhead. You know.
::drools::
Actually, my post was in no way a Digimon reference. I’ve never watched a full episode myself. It was completely a Cowboy Bebop reference. If you haven’t watched any, let me just say that Bebop and Kenshin are my two favorite anime series.
sigh Nobody ever accused me of being literate… The Digimon stuff should be bumped up to my response to don Jaime. I actually knew yours was a Cowboy Bebop reference (only due to the wonders of Google, though).
So, it’s that good, huh?
Well, obviously I think so. Although Kenshin edges Bebop out for the number one position.
Bebop tends to be more comedy oriented, though they do serious as well. And the comedy tends to be more character based rather than broad slapstick I see so much in anime (which frankly I don’t like). Plus you can get the whole shebang on DVD.
But hey, don’t take my word for it. Ask around. I’m sure there are other dopers who’ll give you an opinion or two.
Well, I certainly thought so . . .
It’s sort of an updated, somewhat more mature Lupan, (not MUCH more mature, but . . .) with a bit of HK action and a big dolip of over-the-top 70’s style. Great production qualities all around, animation, music, direction, everything. Including both voice tracks. (Bebop probably has the best dub track ever done)
It’s very episodic, but sometimes that’s a good thing. In terms of pure entertainment, it’s probably the best series I’ve seen.
If you liked Kenshin and Bastard!! (There’s a ) you’ll probibly like it . . .
Besides, there’s a blacksploitation episode. I’m not kidding. And if that isn’t enough, in one episode, Spike kicks the crap out of Goofy. And if THAT isn’t worth the price of admission, nothing is.
Should warn you, a boxed set is coming out soon, that will probably include extras people (like me) who bought each DVD won’t get. Bastards.

“Don’t leave stuff in the fridge. That’s the real lesson.”
I think I mentioned in another anime thread a few months back that I’m a box set whore. If there’s one in the works, I’ll wait for it. I’ll let you know what’s on/in it.
Char Aznable?
Zeon Zum Daikun?
Shiro Amada?
I’ve been whaching a lot of Gundam lately…
I think the Geki ganger thing was a Nadesico refrence. It’s a show on the show. It’s usualy one word though.
Ura-Maru, when was the blacksploitation episode? I don’t remember that one.
Episode 17, Mushroom Samba. Guest apperances by Shaft and Cleopatra Jones.
The Godslayer of Hit Points was the sword that Dug Fin used at the end of Dragon Half. Memorable not only for it’s great name, but it’s great introduction.
“mumbled-japanese, mumbled-japanese -pause- GOTTOSHLAYAAA!!!”
Kind of like the “Roard off Nitmars” thing in Slayers, only more so.

“Can you beat him with your skinny arms? CAN YOU?”
Hell, now I’m tempted to make that my new SN…
How 'bout:

It’s not too long to fit, and heaven knows, you’ve always reminded me of a 9 year old girl in a skirt riding a broomstick. <kidding>
Um…Captain Harlock?

Princess Mononoke?
Totoro (actually, I think there’s already a Totoro here)
Protoculture?
Minmei?
Or, If we’re going for Gainman,

Death
Delirum
Destruction
Destiny

Low Key
Mr. Wendsday
Mad Sweeney
Hope this helps
Fenris
Okay, I think you could name yourself after a group of characters. My favorite is from the American parody comic Ninja High School: Baka, Jaka, & Nestor
Huh. This thread resurrected itself. Go figure.
You know Fenris, I like your Gaiman suggestions (so much, in fact, that I’ll let your other impertinence slide :)).
I also like foolsguinea’s idea of a group of characters, though I’ll probably end up with either a bunch of food related characters (was it Bakaretsu Hunters that had a character named Tiramisu?), or characters named after hygiene products, but it’s something worth thinking about.
In case anybody’s wondering, I’ll probably decide this whole renaming thing as soon as I move back home. sigh So much work, so little time.
I would have chosen this name for myself if I’d have known Evangelion all that time ago, but you can use it.
17thAngel.
So Kid Miracleman it is, then?

Fenris
As I am a Starblazers/Space Batlleship Yamato fan----
"Wave Motion Gun–FIRE!"–would be a great name!
