Does anyone know of a good place for kite flying near Ann Arbor? I was thinking that an afternoon kite fly might be fun.
If you have a car, Gallup park. Or wait is that Fuller park? The one on the Huron river. You should get good breezes there, right?

I’m new to Michigan (moved here in January 2003), and wouldn’t mind meeting some of the Dopers around here.
I’m psyched! I may even get my Brother and his Wife (my sister in law) to come to dinner. I think it would be good to widen their horizons. Can I get a list of who is likely to make it?

I can most likely make it. We just have to decide if we want to do the bar or park thing. I vote for the Arbor Brewing Company. In fact, I’ll probably be there this weekend to, uh, research the surroundings for everyone.

Yup. I can do lunch all right. Evening activity is somewhat iffier, but I’ll be at Zingerman’s.
Many of the Michigan Dopers recognize each other on sight, so one they start arriving we’ll have a noticeable gaggle of people assembled.
But to make it easier for the rest of you, let’s all agree to lodge our left pinkies in our left nostrils, as a signal. You might want to dig around with it, as if you were picking your nose, so you look less conspicuous to non-Dopers.
Cranky- Do I have to eat anything I retrieve, or can I just regard it with awe?
How does everyone feel about checking out The Nichols Arboretum http://www.umich.edu/~wwwarb/index.html after lunch? I figure it’s a good healthy walk, or a short cab ride. Let me know what you all think.
