Sekhmett – thanks for changing your username. I was always quite disturbed by your old one. My mother made numerous dramatic suicide attempts and one close friend succeded in killing himself – all of this many years ago but still very painful to me. It always struck my as gratuitiously provocative and I had thought several times about emailing you and asking you to change it. So I’m glad you did.
I’m glad I changed it too. It never was meant as a provocation…it’s just every user name is unique and some of them were created by their owners as to reflect upon themselves.
I was having a hard time back when I joined, and 5U1C1D3 reflected upon some of the decisions I made…as in they were not the best for myself.
I know how it feels to have lost a friend to suicide and having endured for years the dramatic attempts of my best friend (who was also my close cousin, we were soul mate-sisters)…
Thing The First-
I thought Sekhmett and the beast who devoured the souls of those whose hearts outweighed the feather of truth were two seperate entities. The depictions I’ve seen of the beast depict it as part lion, but alos part crocodile. I’ve only seem Sekhmett depicted as a mixture of woman and lion. OTTOMH Sobek is the god associated with crocs. However, he isn’t the soul-eating beast either.
Thing The Second-
Bah. I ain’t scared. As was proven by Ra, Sekhmett’s weakness is . . . beer. She just can’t resist a good brew.
