Pima County sheriff’s Lt. Michael O’Connor told reporters in Arizona that Raul Flores had connections to Mexican drug cartels and his involvement was known to the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Sounds like both the shooter and victim were career criminals. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that the real motive was more about protecting their drug turf or something of that nature than immigration.

Shawna Forde, from the Minuteman American Defense, and a couple of her pals invaded the victims’ home. Unless you’re saying that Forde was the dealer trying to knock off her competition, then the victims’ involvement with drugs is irrelevant. Forde probably did suspect that the people inside were dealers or illegal immigrants but what she believed is also irrelevant - she’s got no right to go barging around shooting people.

Raul Flores, 29, and his daughter, Brisenia, 9, were killed when a group of armed people, including a woman, forced their way into the home. The child’s mother traded gunfire with the attackers. She survived but remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Pima County officials said the intruders had been looking for the couple’s other daughter to shoot her, too, but she wasn’t home.

So lets say Shawna did get a lot of money from her murder robbery. Do we trust her? Is she honest? Is she really going to give it all to the Minuteman American Defense, or might she convince herself that really she deserves much of it for her efforts?
