Wrong. Mexicans are part white, and the part that isn’t white is Indian. Seeing as how there’s no overlap between the Minutemen and anti-Indian racists, your claim is nonsense.

Speaking English and being protestant would probably carry them just as far as being white, but his statement is far from “nonsense”. Your post, however, pretty much is nonsense. Being “part white” never helped anybody much, and being Mexican is a little more complicated than being Indian with a little “white” blood mixed in.

Nobody much cares whether people are Catholic or Protestant any more except the Catholic Church. But if they spoke English it *would * make a difference. It wouldn’t excuse illegal immigration any more than it does for Irish illegal immigrants, but it would, and should, make a difference.

Not really. We don’t have an official language in the US, you know. Nobody cares what language the Pennsylvania Dutch, or all the Russians in New York speak. Anglo and Spanish cultures have been clashing since before the new world was discovered, which suggests it’s not purely a race thing, but it’s incredibly disingenuous to pretend race isn’t a factor.
