Here is one I’ve not posted yet. Me in front of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing last year.

You’ve slipped up big time matey.
I recognise you,I lent you five Baht back in 1982 in a bar on the Khe Sanh road not all that far from the temple.
It stuck in my mind because it was a sunny day and there were lots of oriental people around and I even saw one or two Backpackers.
Three events like that ON THE SAME DAY! make it a pretty memorable event.
I searched every brothel in Bangkok,Pattya and Chaing Mai hoping to see you and get my money back but nothing.
It cost me a fortune cos they wouldn’t just let me wander around without being a customer and I got my own personal swipe card to the door of the S.T.D clinic when I got back home.

Thanks - I’m grinning like a big kid.
my secret : I’m as immature as I can be. All. The. Time.

I have a plaque that says “If you reach 50 without growing up, you don’t have to.” Words I’ve lived by for the last [del]five[/del] six years (My birthday was last Saturday).
Ellen, I think it goes without saying, but you are a very beautiful almost-almost-50-year-old.
about to commit serious vandalism

No, you moof! It’s already leaning to the right; you’ll just put it vertical again. Flick it the other way!

No no no. Think of the damage to the Italian tourist industry. I am a subtle vandal.
(The recently installed stabilization equipment is capable of straightening the tower completely. Or, well, as completely as would be stable, considering that the architects and builders recognized the lean when they were partway through construction, and tried to compensate as they went. But the powers that be recognized the cash cow for what it is, and chose to leave the tower in a safe-but-definitely-leaning orientation, rather than “fix” it entirely.)
This is a pic of my daughter and I at the Detroit Dam in Oregon. I’m holding my hat because of the wind…I didn’t want anybody to see my thinning chemo hair.
