Another MS Word/Office XP question - fonts

Ok, the other day I asked about setting up default settings for Word so that new documents could open with double-spacing rather than single-spacing.

Well, I got some help there, and when I used that template this morning, it worked great, except for one thing.

My fonts seem to be gone: The default font seems to be Device Font 10cpi, with only two others, in 14 and 17 point size. I can type in “Times New Roman” and I get the message “The font ‘Times New Roman’ is not available on your system. Do you want to use it anyway”. If I click yes, it settles right into TNR like I want. This does not add TNR to the list of available fonts - just lets me use it for that specific document.

But I know this font is on my system - I’ve been using it since the beginning of the semester. I also know there are more fonts (although I rarely use them) available that don’t show. The same problem also occurs if I just open a new document without using the template - so it’s not limited to the template.

Any suggestions?
