I don’t remember if it was a drama or a comedy (or both). It was made in the 1980s. The setting was an American auto plant that had just been purchased by a Japanese company. It followed both American characters and the Japanese guy & his family brought in to manage the plant. I think the other main character was an American manger. One scene that stands out involved the Japanese manager trying to make an assembly-line worker sweep or mop a floor.

I loved that movie, but I haven’t seen it since the '80s. I wonder if it was as good as I remember.
