Another question for the owners/adminstrators of this board: Replacement Cecil

“majesties” ? Cecil II is PLURAL

  1. Infiltrate the den of vipers who seek to eclipse The One True Cecil, and discover the details of their nefarious plot.
  2. Quietly sabotage their nefarious plot.
  3. Transmit the details of the nefarious plot to The One True Cecil.
  4. Testify at the High Tribunal where the ringleaders will be punished for their nefarious plot.
  5. Receive a medal from Cecil himself for your invaluable aid in uncovering, transmitting and blocking their nefarious plot, and receive the undying adoration of the Teeming Millions for your service.

Plus any other stuff like that comes to mind. And remember, you are only interested in nefarious plots. Don’t be distracted by any run-of-the-mill plots.

Shoot, there goes my job.

Damn the Clique[symbol]ä[/symbol]

Don’t worry, Robb, The Esteemed Cecil won’t listen to whitetho-he’ll probably ask Cecil II to deal with the problem, anyway.

My immediate reaction was “Uh-oh, The Flintstones are on at 3, I’ll have to try and reschedule my shift.” Then I realized this mission is more important than Betty-Rubble cleavage.
So I went and bought TiVo and everything’s straight now.

stv, ready for action

All right!! I drew a shift in the booth with Lisa Ann! I’m the luckiest man alive.

What? Whaddya mean… I was right here… AUGGGHHHH!

I missed it. And it was my idea. No fair.

Cecil II, sir? whitetho is saying bad things about you again. Do you want me to bring the utility van around to the back one more time?

OK Wisest Novel you and I are in charge of pretending to recruit for Cecil II, but instead secretly diverting the unsuspecting masses to my own burgeoning cult of personality. (You can be the Bukharin to my Stalin.) I will not rest until I see a large iron statue of myself erected in downtown Chicago.

Better to be Arnold’s Bukharin than his Trotsky…

Wisest Novel- don’t let him axe you any questions…

It appears that the false messiah has fled, and the abandoned confederates are now left to fend for themselves. But contrary to people’s wild imaginings, Cecil’s punishments for disloyalty are appropriate and fair. It’s not like Cecil is going to make you into a foot-stool. There is no reason to believe that The bigwigs at the Chicago Reader are going to parade you through the streets that the populace might ridicule you. And they are not going to Permanently ban you, and your children, and your children’s children from accessing the Straight Dope Message Board ever again, for all eternity. Unless, of course, Cecil is like, you know, in a cranky mood or something.

Where’s your messiah II now? All Hail Cecil! Accept No Substitutes!

“Where’s your messiah to now?” Whitetho, your poor puns using East Coast slang cannot save you. The Movement is already set to roll over the Net and Newsprint world like a giant steamroller made out of invisible people. Bow before it or be crushed! His Majesty Cecil II is mighty and believes in the Perfect Master Cecil I, not your blasphemous babbling. Resistance is futile.

Exgineer, I think we need to watch Arnold…he seems to be deviating from The Plan[sup]TM[/sup]…

Yeah! What Arwen said. Prepare the world for assimilation!

Now, should this be subtle, or in-your-face?

when has subtle ever worked?

Geeze, whitetho, I think you are seriously overreacting here.

Fenris, Cecil II clearly stated that he wasn’t trying to supplant The Great Cecil, and was simply offering his services as a substitute. Given that the self-styled “Perfect Master” is apparently busy, or not feeling so well, or whatever, this doesn’t seem unreasonable.

There’s no coup de main going on here, honestly.

Message received, Arwen. I agree that Arnold may be a danger to the Movement. There will be two tarps in the utility van.

Fabulous! There’s plenty of room in the 5th Column grove. You can have the spot right next to Vidkun Quisling. The cost: only ten pieces of silver and your soul!

See! I told you whitetho was Satan in disguise! Now he’s trying to defeat The Purpose by stealing the souls of our minions! Band together!

You didn’t get the memo?

I’m beginning to get worried about Arnold, since he seems to think that comparing himself to Stalin will rally people to his cause.

In addition to my teeming duties, I’d like to be in charge of the committee that will work to prove that anything that goes wrong was caused by whitetho. I think our first order of business will be changing whitetho’s name to Snowball.

Bit of a dull memo, don’t you think?
