Another Summer Comes to the End MMP

The trazodone made my heart fluttery last night, so I talked to a pharmacist today and she suggested using a medication I already had instead.

Slept well last night in spite of the brief heart flutter, but got up too early and couldn’t get back to sleep. Took a nap this afternoon and then reanimated myself with coffee.

Another half hour and I can start my trek toward home. Tis been a long day. Not very busy especially for a holiday weekend. This means I will be swamped tomorrow. At least it is only a half day.

baker, my dad’s dog Gracie (Nelson’s grandmother, fer real) has had her picture made with Santa and it’s displayed prominently at Dad’s, right up there with us kids and the grands. :stuck_out_tongue:

I bugged out after finishing the morning reports this morning. I went to the dealership to get my free trial of Sirius XM connected. So far, I’m more impressed with listening to Pandora with my phone connected.

Grocery shopping is done and now that the school down the street from the dog park is out and parents have their younguns fetched, we may head that direction. Later, I’ll head to the funeral home. Tomorrow I’ll connect with the remaining [del]cat herder[/del] kid’s committee member to figure out the curriculum for the remainder of the year and schedule the volunteers. Then it’s game night while I’m in the city. Sunday, there’s a labor day cookout hosted by friends that I’ll take shrimp and grits tapas to. Monday is purely rest.

Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzzy day here. Ribs ‘n chikin parts are all smoked and the smoker is cleanded up even. Go Me! I made coleslaw and N.O.T. sallit. Baked beans are prepped for cookage tomorrow. I drug out a couple of slow cookers and have them set on the back porch for use tomorrow to warm up chikin’, ribs, and pulled poke. Also, I made a gallon of unsweet tea for the heathens who shall be amongst us tomorrow, and two gallons of sweet tea. We supped. The poke is sooooooooooooo good! Now ‘tis chill time. Tomorrow mornin’ I shall raid the ice machine over to the church house. The poppers will be heated up for munchin’ out at the cee-mint pond. Other folks are bringin’ munchie stuff as well. Various soft drinks and strawberry-lemonade shall be provided. Adult beverages are of the bring your own variety. The weather promises to be nice tomorrow as well, so YAY!

I read, but have retained little, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, smoochies, noogies and how you doin’s all around as needed.

{{{midget}}}
Today was kind of a blur. I had a meeting this morning, so it was all fun and games in my room while I was gone. And since it was Friday, it was all fun and games after I came back.

RT is home for the long weekend. He’s gone to pick up one son and to visit the other one at college, briefly. Then he and his younger son will be heading here for a couple days.

I hate football but if I have to cheer on a team, it would be the Steelers. This weekend will be an orgy of teevee watching. The U.S. Open, and Netflix today dropped season 8 of The Great British Bake Off. Visiting with my sis and BIL Sunday. Sis is making potato salad.

**Red **- we’ve got SiriusXM and I’m really not impressed. So many of the stations have commercials, and all seem to play the same stuff over and over and over and over… When my subscription runs out, I’m letting it die.

We went to Cracker Barrel for supper, then to WalMart for a few items. Now we’re home, ready for chillage. Busy weekend ahead, but lazy night tonight.

Worked, came home. At least there’s plenty of sports this weekend, so even if I can’t go out, I’ll be entertained. Making chipolte BBQ chicken with rice and corn and black beans with roasted jalapenos.

You’re kinder to Pittsburgh sports players than I would be.

“Alright, we gonna play shirts and skins today”
“You forgot the shirts, sir”
“Alright, we gonna play…skins and skins, and let God sort things out.”

Surely you can’t be Sirius:smiley:

Hope they set the sleep stuff figured out, Midget.

I just checked netflix and apparently there are 4 or 5 seasons of Great British Bake Off on there that we haven’t seen on OPB. Cool!

Dinner tonight will be kielbasa and sauerkraut, with a side of green beans and bacon.
Don’t judge.

Okay, we have to kill Dogbutt.
Shall we do it as Murder on the Orient Express, everyone participates?
We can, or course, buy him tickets for him on the Wreck Island Railroad, and let statistics take care of it. They often put one on the ground, misunderstanding the concept, “Trains go shiny side up”.

Mooooom, so far I’m with you. I have yet to find a good Americana station on it (I’m spoiled; one of my local NPR stations is of the Americana / Roots format) and the fock oldies stations tend to mimic the FM ones with fewer and less obnoxious commercials. It will likely die once the 90 day trial is up.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of 93 and TWPTB say a fifty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse later this afternoon/evenin’. Let’s hope they got this one wrong. They’ve been willy-nilly with forecasts as of late. Today is the soiree at the cee-mint pond. I shall go fetch ice from over at the church house in a little while and get various foodstuffs where they need to be for feast time. Oh and we got rain overnight. I woke up around twelve-thirty to go pee and heard rain. I got back in bed and was just about asleep when I heard a big KA*BOOM. Fortunately tstorms do lull me to sleep.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify a bit and get on with the day.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I also have a 50% chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse.

I lazed in bed till close to 8, but the critters have now been tended to and the cat box is clean. There’s a load of towels in the washer and I’m having an egg sammich. It’s overcast with a 60% chance of t-boomers, so I’m thinking I’ll just toss everything into the dryer. Not too fond of rushing outside to pull clothes off the line in the rain.

Various chores on tap for the day. After all, it’s Labor Day weekend, and I shall labor.

Happy Saturday!!

It’s on my binge list for the weekend. I watched 2 episodes from the latest series with the new hosts. It’s raining which means the horses will be in and I won’t have to slog to the pasture to get Ariel.

Blurf. Stayed up until midnight knowing I could get a long sleep and…was up by 6:30am.

Close to 90F and no rain in sight, guess I’ll have to get the sprinkler out and water the yard today.

It’s Sattiday so I guess I should take a bath…

Second load is in the washer, and I’m about to hop into the shower. SIL is taking the trash and recycling. Roxy is fussing because no one is playing with her.

Life at FairyChatEstates.

Happy Saturday.

It’s overcast and looks like it will rain.
Not to hot though.

I woke at 6, damn bladder, and never got back to sleep.

I have clothes in the washer, and made some breakfast for the pup and me. My son is still in bed so he is one his own for breakfast, you snooze, you lose.

Nothing special to do today, or for the holiday weekend.
Just the usual irk and house irk. My son has a lot of school irk that he will want me to proofread for him.

History of Rock is a fast paced class, there are 45 chapters to do in 15 weeks. Previous lessons were on Bessie Smith, The Carter Family, Roy Acuff, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, Hank Williams, hillbilly, yodeling, urban and country blues, bluegrass, and much more. Current lesson is Little Richard, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Bill Haley, Alan Freed. Next lesson is Elvis. My son is so cute, he thinks bands like Metallica will be coming up soon. I said oh no, we still have folk music, the Beatles, the Brittish Invasion. I’m sure there will be a chapter on Woodstock and war protest songs. Or maybe not.
I think this class is fun, but it is much easier for me than it is for him.

International Business is semi-interesting. Medical Terminology he can keep, fortunately he doesn’t talk to me about that one. His other class is Health and Wellness, kind of a bullshit class as far as I am concerned, but he has to take one class in that catagory.

Walked Gordie ,and am on pot o’ coffee #2. Gordie is warning me about a horde of Invisible Mole People to the south. I had to fish one of the house spiders out of the tub, for the 4th time this week. [Foghorn Leghorn]Boy’s about as sharp as a sack of wet mice[/Foghorn Leghorn]

Afternoon. Back from irk. Wasn’t too bad, the slob convention attendees appear to have all gone.

Wound up being a bit late back. The site is a farm and has a bunch of stuff like kids’ play area, pets’ corner and suchlike; just as I was signing out, this little kid came up to reception and said they’d found a drowning bird. Cue spending half an hour trying to help random little kid and slightly bigger sister dry out a fledgling sparrow they’d rescued from falling into the sheep’s water bucket. Off the clock, but I don’t mind staying late to try help kids be nice to animals…

Pretty impressed actually, age about 5 and 7 and playing by themselves, they’d got it out the water, started drying it with an old towel, were warming it up with their hands then went to find someone who might now what to do next. I know adults who wouldn’t do that well at birdie first aid.

Anyway, off for two days now. My weekend beginneth.
