Another 'what's this song and who sings it?' thread

Went out to dinner tonight with the wife, and around dessert heard an odd song playing over the sound system. I googled for more info, but with no success. If anyone could ID it, I’d be most appreciative.

The singer was female, and the music was a blend of jazz and pop that had a kind of 60’s-nightclub feel to it. What caught my attention, though, were the lyrics. One line that kept coming up was “I’m gonna X, just like Y” where X is something that person Y is known for doing just the opposite of.

I’m going to swim to you just like Brian Jones
I’m gonna be faithful just like Lady Chatterly
I’m gonna be the wild one, just like Doris Day
And then another line I couldn’t hear, ending with ‘Cassius Clay.’

It also had the chorus “You’re special, just like everyone else.”

Thanks.

“Something Special”, by Pat Appleton?

After some looking around, it seems like it’s her with the group De-Phazz.

Thanks!

Are you sure it wasn’t Rio by Duran Duran?

As a child of the 80’s, I can assure you I would have recognized Rio (I think that video and Hungry Like the Wolf made me spontaneously start puberty). This one was different.

I think it was a song by a group whose name is the same word twice and the name of the song means “river”
