Guys don’t make any noise as they get closer. They’re trying to be quiet and not wake up their wives or girlfriends after they’ve been “cut off” for a week or two.

Rotfl, no kidding. I think it’s instinctual; leftovers from when we were cavemen and the rustlings of a stray whacker would alert nearby predators.
