By “coming back” I clearly meant “filming this”, but apparently my phone is stupid.
I’ve watched every video at least once now. Ya know what I like best about them? I like how almost every one features the wife or both of them laughing and giggling as they crush all manner of things with this massively powerful hydraulic press, as if they were 8 years old and had managed to find their way into an abandoned but functional machine shop or something. It cracks me up to hear them crack up! The whole premise is so simple and silly and somehow still full of “yeah yeah do that let’s see what happens” that the fact that they are clearly and genuinely having a fantastic time making the videos enhances the experience for the viewer.
One definition of “The Perfect Relationship” is “Someone whose insanity matches your own.”
I have a feeling that I don’t want to know how these two met. Yes, they are married. No, they do not have children. This page is SFW; some of their videos aren’t.
I recently returned to the Hydraulic Press Channel, and there a couple of fun new additions:
Crushing a book. Just as with the folding paper one, the book eventually explodes. But unlike the folding paper, the book explodes with such force that it completely destroys the main camera, and knocks the sideways camera off its mount.
Crushing exploding stuff. After going through some caps for a cap gun and a CO2 cartridge, he jams a Mentos into a bottle of Diet Coke, and rams the cap back on. In the bottle goes, and it doesn’t take much before the bottle explodes, spraying Coke everywhere.
In some of the sideways footage, you can see him in the background, operating the press. At least, he is wearing a full-face shield in addition to having a plexiglass barrier, so he is somewhat safer than I originally imagined.
