A Finnish couple have started this; they didn’t think it would take off but it has. Interspersed with some of these videos are clips from the 1980s when David Letterman was doing this on his show.
Enjoy!

Thanks for that! The attempt to fold paper more than seven times was classic! “What the fuck!”
Yeah, seeing the most unlikely objects get crushed is oddly compelling.
I was surprised that the bowling ball exploded almost immediately (and violently). I thought it would very slowly crack before gently collapsing at long last but no. That was quick and spectacular.
I loved the hockey puck. It ballooned–then exploded!
The paper folding is destined to be a classic; the hockey puck was badass.
I love the signature piece of a blue clay man getting smushed and covering up the press.
I thought the clay snakes was the best bonus piece.
Thanks for posting this channel, nearwildheaven! I was a huge fan of both the hydraulic press and the 5 story tower back in the day.
I found that a few weeks ago, they didn’t seem to have too many videos.
Red Hot Nickel Ball is much more entertaining.
When are they going to do a Cyberdyne Systems product?
The best was the motherfucking snakes on the motherfucking press.
That’s because Reddit hadn’t discovered him and given him a ton of views.
His latest video is Pressception, and it’s pretty neat. He must be doing well to be able to destroy that many of them.
I saw that last night, because that’s when it debuted. For some reason, it reminded me of that scene in “Being John Malkovich” when Malkovich discovered the portal into his own brain.
This is where I found out about it. TL : DW - the Young Turks talked about it.
I was half expecting him to say that (and more) when and if he got his hand caught in the press.
The hydraulic jack under the big press was disappointing. I’ve used those jacks for years and it would be interesting to see what happens when an immovable object is subjected to overwhelming force. I suspect the jack would just blow a seal. But…
The clay at the end of the videos is pretty cool. I love how it wraps up around the top piece. The paper was great.
Anyone have any theories about what exactly happened?
The ballooning I assume to mean that it’s made of a softer rubber with a harder rubber exterior. But why explode?
I assume that the rubber simply reached it’s maximum tension and then released all that potential energy as one quick burst of kinetic energy. That’s what it looked like to me, at any rate.
Take the primer and powder out of different caliber rounds. Casing and bullet, and flatten them.
Having looked at a number of the videos, I think what intrigues me most is the cavalier attitude the press operator has towards the danger of the press. Especially with the paper-folding demonstration, I’m surprised that he would actually put his fingers near the thing.
Obviously, he’s the operator of the press, and puts the machine in motion. But how many safeguards did he have to defeat in order to make the videos?
I enjoyed the videos, but I wonder about his safety.
Interesting channel
How much can one make on You Tube for a million views ?
Based on the accent, I sort of suspect that there probably weren’t very many safeties included (assuming he’s coming back in the old country).
Oh great. Now I want to buy a hydraulic press.
And go to Finland and buy that guy a beer.
