I was watching the american antiques roadshow the other day and they were talking about how the white house at one time had been decorated by a Tiffany which one of the subsequent presidents (I THINK it was theodore roosevelt) hated and had it changed.
One of the objects removed were some tiffany glass screens that were set spanning some columns in one of the rooms.
The person being interviewed stated that the then president had ordered the screens shattered (he REALLY didn’t like them) but that the actual final disposition of these screens was a mystery that many were keen to resolve.
Right then, there was a link popped at the bottom of the tv saying to go to pbs.org to find out what happened to the screens. Supposedly the mystery was a mystery no longer.
Unfortunately I just could not find ANYTHING in their website regarding this and I am very curious now.
Has anyone any links regarding this?
(This may be a GQ post, but I figured since its from a tv program Id post it here).
