- Pajama pants and a t-shirt unless they are… inconvenient.
SHORT ANSWER: Idle curiosity
LONGER ANSWER:
I was putting on some flannel bottoms and somehow remembered that I had a pajama set when I was about 8 y.o. (1978) and how I looked forward to putting them on every night.
Growing up, I had several sets over the years, I think even a Star Wars set to match my Star Wars bed sheets, Star Wars pillowcase, and Star Wars socks.
Then I thought about how silly I would feel wearing a pajama set today and how my wife would probably keel over laughing if I even tried.
Then, I got to wondering about others and started this thread for fun.
In starting the thread, I found the linked picture and now think maybe I should get a pajama set, loafers, a pipe, and a hefty hard cover book to carry around.
48 (until Monday).
Nope, I haven’t worn pajamas since I was about nine.
Yes, during the warmer weather (roughly September through until May). I have warmer winter pyjamas for the cooler nights (June until August).
I have a male friend whose house I would sleep over at sometimes (Frank, uber-Catholic, never anything but a friend), in the guest room, and I was stunned to see that a man only a year older than me would wear those same old man outfits to sleep in. I’m sure it was to mask whatever belt he wore to prevent him ‘abusing’ himself. (He’s THAT Catholic, called masturbation self-abuse.)
Last I saw him in them, he was 35. He’s been married a year now, but I’d bet he’s still wearing them.
Male, 33
I sleep in pajamas every night. Always have.
Long-sleeved, long-pants, flannel PJs in winter, short-sleeved, short-pants, thin-material in summer.
I’m very square, it’s true.
Boxers and tshirt for me. I would drench the bed with sweat if I wore pyjamas. I am a veritable furnace whilst sleeping.
I have one pair of pyjamas - I only occasionally wear them; when it’s very cold; when I’m ill and for decency when I’m sleeping at someone else’s house (the in-laws, for example) - in case I have to get up in the night.
My husband wears pajama pants and a big t-shirt to run around the house in, no matter what season.
He sleeps without them.
He’s 48.
When I was married my mom sewed a nightshirt for my husband. I didn’t think he’d ever wear it, but he did, and he really liked it.
I don’t remember his ever wearing pajamas, though.
I wear 'em during the winter. During the summer, t-shirt and underwear suffice.
How thin material are we talking about here? Thin like a cotton shirt? Then no, but I do own a pair of complete pyjamas (long-sleeved, buttons, lapels, pockets). I don’t use them very often, but they’re useful when it’s cold, or when I’m going to be sleeping over somewhere where I want to be “decent” (e.g. elderly relatives, sharing a bed platonically, etc.) Otherwise, I wear boxers and t-shirt, just boxers, or nothing, depending on the night.
The last place I lived in as a bachelor was kind of a dump, very drafty and with pathetically inefficient heating from radiators. (I stayed there for three years because it was very cheap and in a great location, and it had a big fenced yard for my dog.) As a result, in the winter it would sometimes be down as low as about 55 degrees in there at night, so I slept in pajamas then.
I liked sleeping in pajamas; they were nice and comfortable, and good for lounging around the house in when you get up on Sunday morning to watch football.
Just about 50. I wear a T-shirt. Outside home I also wear boxers. Lounging I wear shorts or sweats.
I own a set of black *silk *PJ’s and a dressing gown, given as a gift. I have lent them to guests of the female persuasion, who look hwaaaay better in them than I do.
Tighty-whities , and I AM over 50!
- I wear pajamas (made by actual Panjabis) around the house. I sleep in a colored t-shirt and hospital pants.
I had some which my ex-wife got me when I was hospitalized many years back. After they wore out then I switched back to t-shirt and boxers in the winter. (No central heating, so it gets a bit cool at night.)
I have several pairs of bottoms that I wear around the house. They’re sold as lounging pants, light cotton, elastic/drawstring waist, single snap fly. I sometimes sleep in them and I’ve made a quick run to the store on occasion.
I have to admit that I was more meticulous about my appearance when I was younger, now it’s much more about comfort. I’m far less concerned about what others think.
I’m 40, sleep in boxers or naked, I do have lounging pants and a favorite t-shirt I like to lay around in on the weekends. My dad, 80ish) has always worn the pajamas that look like a suit with lapels and breastpocket. It always seemed weird to me that he got so dressed up to go to sleep.
I’m 50 and haven’t worn PJ’s since I was about 5. Sleepwear is tighty-whities for me.
