Hey, I thought I was the only one who remembered this post and who it was written by. I am also confused about the ‘new’ concrete…

Survivor guilt is a terrible thing, I wish it on no one. I was crossing the street with a friend of mine five years ago and she was hit and killed by a speeding car. I got away without a physical scratch. Trust me, thinking about shoulda s and couldas don’t accomplish anything. Please if you notice that the hurt is becoming too much, seek help. I waited almost six months through nightmares, no sleep, anorexia and suicidal thoughts before I went for help.
I can’t possibly know how you feel but hopelfully you can take some comfort in knowing that we obviously care and are here if you need us.
so the concrete who made the OP of this thread is not the same one who made the “I want to huckabuck the hags of straight dope” or it is?

This would make sense, but why did you post in the ‘Three Wishes’ thread that you would wish your wife back? If you’re not the original ‘concrete’ and yes, you should get your own username and profile. That would be pretty helpful, don’t you think?

It isn’t unusual for people wanting attention to do some fantastic things to get it. There was a young woman at our church over six years ago. She said she had cancer, and the church gave donations to her. Her children waited on her hand and foot. Her fiancee was wonderful and supported them all, even though he wasn’t living with them yet. He ‘surprised her’ by going to her oncologist’s office, only to find out, she had just picked this doctor’s name. They had no record of her. She had pretended for TWO years to have this disease, isn’t that horrid?? Her THEN ex-fiancee came to the pastor with the true story because there were regular people taking her food and clothing all the time.
She left the church, but I still wonder what that did to her kids watching her lie like that, and take advantage of them.
And that was a face to face betrayal, this is faceless, and much easier, till someone catches the dichotomy of the characters being played. Then you just don’t answer, or become your own sibling!

Well (and don’t get me wrong, I agree it’s terrible to deceive people and take advantage of them that way, and I have no personal knowledge of this case, of course) but to me that sounds like someone who is desperately unhappy and perhaps mentally ill. That is a very extreme form of attention-seeking, and to sustain it for that long doesn’t sound like mere greed and laziness; it sounds like someone who is deeply screwed up.

You could be right, ** Catrandom ** while I contributed money, I didn’t know her very well. It was her daughters that I had come to know better. Very serious little girls.
But, screwed up or not, she knew how to hide, which showed a great deal of thought and planning for someone who was truly mentally ill. But, I don’t know.
