Any Female Flashers?

A joke on the radio about a (male) flasher made me stop and think…are there ever any female flashers, or are women just too smart for this?

Ever been to Mardi Gras?

Ever been to Marti Gras in New Orleans–those women flashing their boobs–couldn’t they be also called women flashers.

The different beween the view of men vs women flashers is that women object more than men to being forced to observe the private parts of the opposite sex.

I just notice that beatle types fast than me. (note: I will not think bad thoughts about beatle  )

I mean, like Central Park, any metropolitan subway or street corner etc…OUTSIDE NEW ORLEANS! Besides, do they wear trench coats in New Orkleans?

Ok now you’re changing the rules of the game.

Will my neighbor qualify do you think? The poor thing has a mental illness as well as a drinking problem. She will stand in the middle of the road and just lift up her skirt, uhm she probably doesn’t qualify cause all she is doing is scratching her bugs and she doesn’t wear a trench coat.

One little twist to the question is that in many jurisdictions, anti-flashing statutes specifically refer to men (i.e. "exposing ones ‘person’ to injure a lady’s decency’). I would think the easiest way to answer this quesiton is to look through online sex offender registries for “Public Indecency”. Sure you’ll get the odd topless protester, but it’ll help get a definitive answer.

I do think Mardi Gras and similar events qualify as “flashing”. Just because the women aren’t wearing trenchcoats, doesn’t mean they’re not doing somehting lewd.*

[sub]Although, I don’t mind :D[/sub]

When I was about 12 years old, I ran the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco (a six mile run with thousands and thousands of runners, and much craziness). I was shocked (shocked!) to see a women run by completely naked, but for her shoes. No trenchcoat in evidence, however.

Longer answer - yes, there are. I’ve been flashed and so have my friends, invariably by young women, often from a car. My college GF would flash truckers on the highway. Another GF would occasionally remove her top while driving.

And I agree with evilhanz that Mardi Gras and the like do count.

And how could I forget hookers?

beatle you forgot cause they weren’t wearing trench coats.

Also, read iron horse, the motorcycle magazine. I’m not sure how the writers keep their poise.

In Australia very recently, a married mother of two stripped naked and streaked during a rugby match. (I think it was rugby).

She was arrested, of course, but she has also appeared on a load of talk shows because of the relatively unusualness of it.

Don’t forget the radio host Tom Leykis, who encourages women to flash men while driving on “Flash Fridays”.

If what the OP refers to is people who flash as a sexually motivated crime, I doubt there are many female offenders. I have never heard of one. But it’s always possible.

I would imagine that one possible reason for the relative lack of female flashers is the fact that male ones usually don’t worry about some woman they flash following them and raping them. I can just imagine that a random sicko could use the flashing as an excuse… Women these days seem to generally be very conscious of the possibility of rape, and I’d think that alone would be discouragment.

Unless you’re in New Orleans and drunk, of course.

Female flashers are more uncommon, but their numbers have been rising over the past decade. More are found on the internet now, using webcams, where they can feel both anonymous and safe, the two big reasons that they cite for not wanting to indulge their urges in the more traditional ways that men do.

This would also include the increased numbers of women who get involved in relationships via “chat” rooms, then start emailing candid photos of themselves to their new friends.

Of course, most of what you see on the net advertised as “female exhibitionism” is commercial, being done just for the bucks.

I don’t have good data to back this up, just assertions of people that work in the field of psychiatry, who are reporting to various journals.

A female friend of mine used to feel a compulsion to moon while travelling by car, but perhaps that’s not the same thing.

An idea he stole from Opie and Anthony’s WOW - Whip 'em Out Wednesday. They’re not bitter about it or anything.
