Is the Brickskellar within walking distance of a Metro stop?
It’s a couple of blocks from Dupont Circle on the Red Line.
Yeah, it’s easy, Nomer. Three or four blocks from the south exit of Dupont.
Just don’t talk to my friend who came from out of town, and doesn’t understand the DC street grid. Took him nearly an hour to find the place.
Sweet! I don’t mind driving downtown but I hate trying to park there (I get parking rage) – I live really close to the end of the Orange line, so I love places/people/events that are Metro-accessible.
August 5th is the proposed date, right? I’m in.

F. U. Shakespeare and I exchanged E-mail a month or so ago about doing something to welcome him back to the U.S. after several months away. There was no resolution to that, so maybe this can be (among other things) his welcome-back get-together. I just did a search on his name, and I discovered there was a short-lived thread in which he asked about such a get-together, but it ended after three posts when someone said that we should do it later in the summer.
It may be too soon for a bump, but I was thinking about it and have decided to do it anyway.
