My bleeding 'nads thread made me aware that we haven’t had a recent San Diego Dopefest… anyone into another one?
My wife, after the last one at Bucca de Beppo (or however you spell the name of that damn place), expressed interest in hosting the next SD Dopefest at a Korean place next time.
Sp, whatddya say San Diegers? Wanna get together again and have Korean food?? What’d ya say?

Are you thinking a weekend dinnertime? (Makes no difference to me, I work M-F 8-5, though there are a few weeknights I’m not available.)

Friday is best for me as well.
The last SD Dopefest was errr… 2 or 3 years ago… maybe 4? I dunno.

If it was 4 years ago, it would’ve been about a month before I registered. If any less, I’ll be pissed that I missed it somehow.
Then again, I wouldn’t have been much fun four years ago anyway, as I was 17…

The fire is in San Diego County now. Maybe we ought to wait and see what happens before we make definite plans.
Agreed. Not that we were going to have it today or anything, but depending on how things progress, who knows what types of business will be open then.
I think we’re all fairly central city folks, right? I’m in Clairemont/Kearny Mesa so right now there’s no danger.
Yeah, we’ll have to wait to see what happens… we were in Clairemont during the last big fire; but we’ve since purchased a house in NE Escondido, maybe 2 miles from the Wild Animal Park. Obviously it’s been an interesting morning here…
Shit, really? Are they recommending evacuation up there yet?
Not yet… the fire seems to be burning to the south of us so far. We’re packed and ready to go, however. I’m guessing we have a 50/50 chance of being told to get out.
I’m going to be in San Diego for the IRB 7s (rugby) in February.
Hopefully the fires will be extinguished by then. 
Santo Rugger, I’m glad you reminded me! Did you go this year? How was it? I wanted to, but I wasn’t able to make it.

I didn’t make it this year, I was saving some cash because I went to Brazil in June.
About a dozen of my friends went, though. One of the guys who played for Kenya lived with me for about a month last summer. They met him and two of his friends there that live in Colorado now, who are from Kenya, who also lived with me at the time.
My buddy and I have tickets already, in the “Red Zone”, so I’m really looking forward to it. I have three friends that moved there, and the guy I’m going with used to live there, so I’m sure it’s going to be a good time!
I’ll probably snap up one of the cheapo tickets. Which day would be the best to go?
I would guess that there will be more games on the first day, but the finals will be on the second day. I’d probably go on the second, if I were only going for one. Unless I needed to get home at a reasonable hour for work on Monday, in which case I’d go Saturday instead of Sunday.
