I’ve lurked for a loooooonnnng time. Way back in the summer of '99, I clicked on a link over at Snopes, arrived here, read a thread involving a certain little known poster named Phaedrus (and his ‘evidence’), and have been here ever since.
And I have a post count of 2 (well, 3 now). I suppose that officially qualifies me for lurker status. hee hee
:::hisses at light and then hurriedly scurries back into shadows:::
I ended my dislike of message boards when I saw that the threads in this one didn’t always devolve into name-calling. Otherwise, I would’ve never registered at all. But still, my behavior here is like in real life; I never talk but I always listen.
And belladonna, can you mention me by name in your next post here, pleeease?
::Aglet clasps hands around shiny medal with delight::
I humbly thank you, belladonna [BTW ::looks down to check:: I’m a she].
I think a lot of people read through the threads for awhile before posting. It can be a little intimidating, what with all the intelligence/humor/wit bandied about on this board. Not to mention the intensity of the flames.
When my job was busier, I was unable to actively join in. Summers are usually slower, so I hope to contribute more.
::blushes deeply over calling Aglet a boy::
(actually, I checked your profile but couldn’t tell. I figured a girl’d mind being called “he” less than a boy’d mind being called “she” in case I was wrong, which of course I was )
::Tosses Hatter his medal::
Do you qualify? But of course!
You, El Gui and MarkF are hereby designated as the Grand Lurker Trinity. Use your powers wisely, or I’ll take them back as arbitrarily as I have assigned them. Bwaahahaha!
::stares pointedly at TVGuy’s post, notes the thirty extra posts in three days::
You, sir, are not a lurker! Fraud! Imposter!
Thirty lashes for you, please bend over now.
(hey, being a regular does have some benefits )
Hey, belladonna; don’t you worry about referring to me as a boy. I still retain a bit of tomboy essence, so you probably picked up on those vibes.
Okay, my problem now is that I appear to be busting out of Lurkdom with a vengeance! I initially hopped the gate to respond to a thread about quitting smoking (a topic near and dear to my heart—er, lungs) and now I can’t seem to stop myself from posting. I would imagine this is fairly common. Right? Please say right . . .
