That guy is really annoying. I only watched a few minutes so I don’t know what the OP is about, but I’m curious about the Trump-loving, comedic star of the movie.
And I thought being a singing pickle was bad enough.
I had to look him up. It seems he has done a large number of movies and guest spots on single episodes of quite a few TV shows.
I have seen exactly zero of the movies he’s been in.
I have seen exactly 6 of the TV series he’s been in, and do not remember his single appearance in any of them. (Unsurprising for some, as Fresh Prince and NYPD Blue have been gone for 30 years)
Interesting that a person with this many credits can be so completely off my radar.
I feel like he plays the same character in everything he’s in. But off-hand, the only thing i can specifically remember him in is Phoebe’s cop boyfriend from Friends.
I didn’t have the patience to listen beyond a couple of minutes, so I don’t know what “over the edge” refers to—his complaint, his logic, his manner. If it’s the latter, “over the edge” is Rapaport’s shtick.
I’ve heard him countless times on the Stern show, and you can always count on a volcanic blast of curses and invective, usually directed at some member of Stern’s staff. “Over the top” is his default setting.
Cop Land is pretty good movie, although Rapaport wasn’t essential to that.
I asked for fans so they might compare this rant with past rants. People who’ve never heard of him aren’t a whole lot of help
He’s a character actor. I don’t think there are any “fans” out there.
Oh, I’m sure there are. Rapaport is kinda one note as an actor IMHO, but he can be okayish working within that note. I’ve never really been a fan and I’m sure he has anti-fans a plenty. But he is distinctive enough and has worked enough that I’m sure he has his boosters as well.
That’s outside his comedy act, which I have had zero exposure to.
Have I seen anything he was in?
You’re getting everything your vague and nearly content free OP deserves.
I didn’t think I’d heard of him or knew anything about him until I looked at the Wikipedia article. Hey, Daryl Crowe from Justified! He was a middling season-long villain on that show, better than Theo Tonin and Robert Quarles, but worse than Mags Bennett and not even in the same league as Boyd motherfucking Crowder. So in that sense I’m a fan?
But fuck no I can’t explain a Youtube video of him. Why on earth would I? His acting was pretty fun, but fun actors can be total dipshits or complete maniacs.
Are there Michael Rapaport fans? I mean, he’s like that guy I recognize from a couple of big movies and TV shows. But he’s not been the stand out star of anything AFAIK? Are there people who are like “Oh Michael Rapaport is in this, lets watch it?” (other than MAGA fans I guess who are pretty starved for like minded movie stars, like you’re gonna follow that guy from Lois and Clark? Or Dennis Quaids brother?)
He’s a guy I recognize because he has a distinctive voice and always looks like he’s in pain or something. And he’s been in some good things, like the film Beautiful Girls (the first movie I ever saw Natalie Portman in, yes I saw it before I saw Leon).
Is he a good actor? I dunno, he’s fine, like he doesn’t ruin a show or movie but I’ve never seen him be the reason it’s good either. He seems like a prominent, somewhat successful “working actor” that never hit stardom.
I’m not a fan but don’t hate him for his work. If he’s a nutjob, then too bad I guess.
Atypical is good. So is Comic Book Villains.
He’s one of those actors that I recognize but couldn’t tell you a thing he’s in, except for this viral video that made me laugh more than it should have (warning: language).
I remember him from Boston Legal and his guest spot on TBBT - and he’s voiced a truly annoying fellow on the Simpsons two or three times.
I don’t hate him. He’s very very vocal and he’s not afraid of coarse language. I’m not bothered by his cursing, but I used to watch Ozzy and his family every week.
Michael Rapaport has come under a good bit of abuse online and in person. He may be a bit on edge.
He was assaulted recently. Most people on his feed seem to think it’s very funny. I don’t agree with them.
