Kroger has the boxes for a $1. I buy 4 or 5 and dump the candy into a zip lock bag. I like eating them separately. Two or three greens or reds etc. I generally don’t like mixing the flavors. I do the same thing with life savers.
I don’t eat many jelly beans but I like Mike & Ike.
My kids would agree with you. We used to get them only at the mall out of those candy dispensers, but once I realized you could get them for $1 a box at the store, it has been our only way of getting them.
Great candy, should be more popular. What is it that makes them better/different than jelly beans?
They’re good. I get a box every now and then. The best thing about them is they still have LIME!
Does anyone know why the U.S. candy industry has by and large abandoned lime, the most awesome of the fruit flavors, for insipid apple and watermelon? Life Savers five flavor, SweetTarts, Skittles, Pixie Stix, tiny suckers from the bank- all gone!
I don’t eat much candy these days but I liked Jolly Joes which were like Mike and Ikes but they were all purple. As I recall they also had Cool Kids which were mint and Hot Tamales which were hot cinnamon.
actually theres been dozens of mike& ike type of flavors sometimes they label them mike and ike and soemtimes they dont … …infact they even had a “banna split” edition… the effect was supposed to be that in you put all 5 flavors in your mouth at the same time it was supposed to taste like a nanna split … not quite …from wikipedia :

right now they have a 10 flavor box … and the xmas mix on the official website and yes they still make hot tamales in various versions
I had to have a box yesterday. Just the original ones, always great. These were a little stale, I suppose. I really like the Lemonade ones, don’t see them as often when I have a craving.
