Any other Floridopers lovin' this weather?

I’m tottaly embracing it .

I feel like a different person in the cool weather for some reason, and it’s hard to wipe the smile off my face. I consatnly feel like taking a stroll through Cocoa Village. Matter of fact, I just got done doing that since they had an craft fair goin’ on…of course today was downright warm compared to yesterday, but it was still a nice outing.

Anywho, I look forward to swimming in the pool when the temperature drops to 50 degrees like I did last year. Hooray for the annual cold front! Huzzah!

Yeah, it’s great! The pets are all frisky and I even want to go work in my yard.

Oh yeah. I really felt like a new person too this weekend.

I just wish my damn fence was up (knocked down from one of the hurricanes). I have no privacy to open up my sliding doors to let the cool air in.

It dropped below 75 this past week. You know what that means: JACKETS!!! It was 72 on Thursday. So, I put on pants and a light jacket, but I still wore sandals.

But man! Cool breeze and not a cloud in the sky. It’s weeks like this when I’m so glad to own a convertible!!

I know exactly how you feel, JoeSki. I was in such a great mood all day yesterday just because of the drop in temperature. This morning I sat outside on my balcony and enjoyed the cool breeze for awhile. It was such a nice change from the constant heat.

i hope you’re being sarcastic, because 50 degrees is NOT cold, heck that’s still t-shirt weather round these parts (Vermont)

you want cold, try the last 2 winters where we had weeks of subzero weather (-25 to -30 farenheit) that’s cold…

still, i’d imagine given a choice between “cold” weather and hurricanes, i’d imagine you’d take the “cold” weather, right?

I wouldn’t mind having a few more hurricanes if I was assured that my power wouldn’t go out. They’re great for when you need time off, and provide some extra time for homework and book readin’.

And I wouldn’t mind trying Vermont out for a change of pace. Last year when I went to an outside Christmas festival, out of a thousand or two people walking around, only me and about 2 other people I saw were wearing shorts and t-shirts. On the drive home, I had my AC at full blast. Florida really is not the state for me  .

Between now and sometime in April is what Florida is all about. The humidity drops, you get a bit of a cool breeze, you don’t need a heater or air conditioning, and it’s the dry season. Between May and September it’s pretty much hell though, hot, humid, rains every day, and to wind it all up, a hand full of hurricanes in the late summer. Ideally I would like to live somewhere like Vermont in the summer, and Florida in the winter, maybe when I win the lottery I will live that way. But for now, the long hot summer is better for me than the cold, rainy, icy, gloomy, snowy winters up north.

Florida is my real home, no matter where I am. Whatever the weather is, it’s always better than wherever I am, and I like it.

In this part of Florida we’re supposed to be in the high 80s all week. Time to box up those sweaters for another week or so. But this past weekend was great, even when it warmed up.

We took advance of the weather to fix our hurricane blown down fence. 'Twas to hot before. Now I can open the doors and windows and let the dogs out in the yard! I LIVE for this weather!

Yeah, the weather’s been great lately. The only problem is, every time I go outside, I have to restrain myself from lying right down in the grass and going to sleep! These warm, breezy days really knock me out.

No. No, no and no again! It’s getting too damned cold now! If it’s not at least 80 I’m not happy, and anything below 75 is miserable.

Yes, I know I’m a freak.

Wow, it only took six posts for some self-righteous Northern sufferer to come in here and piss on our thread.

I have no sympathy for people who have to one-up your “miserable” weather stories. Hey, it’s a little thing called acclimation. It means that, when the temperature drops significantly from what you are used to, you tend to notice. So, if I get on a plane and it was 80 degrees outside, then I get off the plane and it’s suddenly only 50 degrees, I feel freaking cold, okay? If you get on a plane when it’s 50 out and get off the plane to find it’s only 20 out, I bet you get out your freaking jacket, don’t you? Could you mind your own chilly snowbird business up there and let us enjoy what semblance this is to fall in Florida?

Thanks! (And, by the way. If your weather sucks so much, why don’t you move somewhere warmer? I suspect it’s because you’d rather suffer more than anyone else. Bragging rights: “I’ve shoveled more snow this morning than you Floridians have ever seen in your pathetic, sheltered, but warm and tan, little lives!” Bite me. It’s almost Halloween and I still have tan lines. Heh.)

P.S. Given a choice of hurricanes or a blizzard: This Ohio native who has acclimated to Florida’s weather will take a Cat 4 hurricane over a single snowflake any day of the week. Now go start your own thread about how pretty the leaves are and I promise to stay out of it and not whine about how we don’t get the pretty leaves where I live…

Yeah, but at least we’re out of the high 90s and the rain’s gone. The temperature seems so much better because the humidity has cleared out – we have until April to be happy, because it returns in May.

Hey! Where the hell did our cold front go? Two weeks ago everything was lovely, now I’m back to approaching swamp ass two mintues after I head out the door. What gives?

Someone needs to get a search Warrant and inspect Georgia. I’m thinkin’ there’s been some foul play here  .

It’s coming back Thursday. Be patient.
