I think I’ll spend Turkey Day on the beach. A lazy noon basking in the Florida sun, then on to my uncle’s for dinner. Yup, sounds like a plan.
I’m in Boston. It’s snowing. Kookie.
Almost 80[sup]o[/sup]F here right now (78), high of 35[sup]o[/sup]F called for Thursday. I hate cold weather.
I’m in Boston as well. I hate you, Lionne. Just so you know.
22 hours ago it was 82 degrees in my back yard. Right now it is 36 and falling. Tonight the forecast is for a low of 17 and 3-5 inches of snow.
Not bad, a 65 degree temperature drop in about 30 hours.
It stopped.
I’ll be in Florida in a month.
I’m in Florida, too, but too far from the beach to fit in both the beach and family dinner. Dammit.
Oh come on. I’ve seen maps. Florida has water on both sides of it. And it’s a really thin state.
Lionne, I used to like you. Now, I hate you.
Take me with you, please. I’m housebroken! I can be cute! Maybe…
Last night was the first time this winter that I had to wait for my windshield to thaw before I could leave work.
…sigh, 82[sup]o[/sup]F now. Cold front to hit by sundown (~2 hrs)
According to TWC, it’s pretty damn nice out. Yes, I do live in south Florida.
31C today - beach as well.
I’m in Indiana.
It was well into the 70’s yesterday, and we’re expecting snow tonight.
It’s 65 right now. I expect a high of 83 today. And I live 30 minutes from the gulf coast. I think I may do the beach thing as well.
Ha ha.
Bleah. Too much humidity in Florida. Right now, it’s 10F here. It’s not going to get any warmer before I leave for work, either.
It’s not even supposed to get up to freezing for the next couple of days.
And I like it!
You wouldn’t say that if you’ve seen Lionne. Rowr! This coming from a straight chick. Now imagine that “rowr” on the beach.

Actually this time of year there’s much less humidity than during the summer. All it seems to take is a quick cold front passing though to get rid of it. It’s very comfortable here without that pesky humidity. This is the time of year that makes Florida great, too bad this “season” is not as long as summer.
We don’t really have actual seasons like other places, just varying degrees of hot, except for about two weeks of a cold winter-like season. Usually those 14 days are not consecutive. Heck sometimes they’re not even entire days. It can be freezing at night and then a nice 70-80 degrees during the day. But as I said, this is the kind of weather that keeps us here.
The weather is here, wish you were beautiful!

True. But driving to the beach still takes almost 2 hours.
I got a wee sunburn this past weekend playing frisbee without a shirt on the Georgia coast. Last year we had one cold week in December. I had to wear shoes that week. The flip flops came back of the duration of ‘winter.’

I am well aware of what it’s like to live without seasons. A couple of years in the New Orleans area did it. Never again! Don’t get me wrong, New Orleans is way cool, but I don’t ever want to live there again. The seasons there were from hideously hot and humid down to coolish and humid and back up again. Bleah, I say, bleah!
Enjoy your weather, I will enjoy mine. Winter seems to suit me. Ask me about that again in February, though!
