So, how's the weather?

Here in Florida, it is gorgeous. I’ve got all my windows open, there’s a lovely cool breeze, it’s a bit overcast but not gloomy. This is the first time in probably 6 months or more that I’ve been able to have the windows open without sweating my ass off.

I’m a bit surprised to see that it’s 80 degrees and 70% humidity according to the Weather Channel, it feels much cooler and drier than that. But with the highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 70s, I’m sure my electric bill will be much lower this month. I just hope we get another “cold” front soon, I’m loving this weather too much.

So, how’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

The weather here would be better if not for the smoke from the fires down south. I noticed it last night when the rising moon was reddish. It’s really smoggy, but still nice and sunny.

NE Georgia finally hit that perfect weather we once associated with September, the ability to be outside without worrying about dying from heatstroke. It’s too bad that the days become shorter as the weather begins to become bearable. I’m sure there’s a connection there somehow.

Southern Ontario right now is rainy and rather chilly, sitting at 12°C (53F) which is not particularly pleasant. Such is fall around here. Last weekend was awesome though, reaching 25°C (77F). A bit of Indian summer.

Lucky. I’m waiting for the two lovely weeks of weather in the 50s we might get sometime in January.

When 9 months out of the year it’s more likely than not to be above 80 degrees, and 6 months of that involve totally sweating your ass off, it gets rather old.

We have had a week of some badly needed rain. As a bonus it is bringing the temps down to something like fall should be!

Yesterday was 60F, and it felt too warm. Today, it got up to about 50F, and it was perfect. Tonight it’s supposed to get down near 20F – brrrr! – and I think it’s supposed to be about the same tomorrow as it was today.

Of course, I’m at a good bit of elevation in mountains in Idaho. Fall here is going to be short, I can tell. It’s already snowed a couple of times. Frankly, I think this weather is completely awesome for October, after years of sweltering in various southerly places.

Oh, it’s probably 40f out now. Should be a nice weekend. Maybe up to 60f. Ground is about half covered with snow here in the mountains. It’s been an easy fall.

Had to use 4x4 for about 2 weeks to get up the driveway if that’s any indication.

Wow, you must be higher up than I am. It’s been great so far this fall. It’s my first here.

Eleven Two.

We had like two weeks of really nasty weather–pouring rain, cold, dark, gloomy, bleargh. Then all of a sudden it turned into beautiful autumn weather, cold clear mornings (scraped ice off the windshield three days running, brrr!) turning into fabulous clear blue sky days with chill breezes but ambient temps in the low-mid '60s, big fabulous full moon that looks like it’s about ten times bigger than it ever is. The trees are turning some really spectacular colors–the maples are the real standouts–and there are multicolored drifts of leaves spinning around on the sidewalks with the gusts of wind. I love this weather and I hope it sticks around for the next month or so!

Large weather we’re having.

(That’s something my friends and I would say as mock small talk back in high school.)

Sunny today and yesterday. I drove the MG to work Thursday, but as it’s dark when I leave and near sundown when I leave work I didn’t take the top off. A friend and I drove down to a gun shop in it today. Could have taken the top off but didn’t. High temperatures are in the 50s, and the radio said that we probably won’t have 60s again until Spring. Partly cloudy (incidentally, the name of an ‘industrial’ band a coworker was in in the '80s – she was ‘Lisa Cloudy’, the bass player) to mostly cloudy for the next five days with highs in the low- to mid-50s.

Our rainy season seems to have just ended, and we are now entering our “cool” season. The temp is only getting into maybe the mid-90s now. It will be almost pleasant come December and January.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.

Crappy weather today.

Fairly typical spring weather here - very changeable. Maximum temperatures over the last couple of weeks have varied from about 20 to about 35. It’s 22 now, with a maximum of 25 predicted and possible showers later this afternoon. Daylight saving starts tonight, so we’re well and truly into the countdown to summer.

I don’t venture outside without a mask. Not even for a few seconds. The moon is yellow, the sun is red, and the air stinks.

Wonderful. The rain on Monday sucked, but the past few days have been gorgeous in the Dallas area.

Coolish in the mornings. In fact, this am it was in the 40s. However, warms up quickly to the 70s/80s. No humidity and bright blue skies.

Dallas goes from super hot to way too cold fairly quickly. I’m glad we’re actually getting some nice weather now as our spring was cold and rainy. Snow on Easter? In Dallas?

It’s pissing rain and it’s cold. I’m currently wearing two pairs of socks, and yesterday I was wearing a stocking cap in the house. That was completely ridiculous, since there aren’t any drafts and the thermostat is set above 60 F. The temperature outside was in the mid-50s today. I’m not sure what it is now, but it’s probably in the high 40s right now.

I feel like I have the opposite of menopause.

I wish it would stop raining. We had enough in August, and now the river near our house is running high again. There’s also a perma-puddle in the driveway, which has been there since the end of July. I’m contemplating naming it. Lake Titicaca is already taken, so I’ll have to think of something better.

Perfect New England autumn these past few days. Warm and breezy and sunny during the day; chilly enough to cozy up with a blanket and some hot chocolate at night. The foliage is spectacular right now, too - I especially like watching the leaves swirl around in the wind as they fall.

It’s been cold and rainy and windy for four days, and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
