I had a headshot taken for my job recently. I also plan to use the picture on my professional social media presence and as a headshot for the acting roles I’m applying for. It’s a good picture of me, with one minor problem. Since my eyeglasses are roughly as thick as the Great Wall of China, my eyes are distorted. They look smaller than they should, and you can see the temples of the glasses through the lenses. It’s not a huge deal, but it is a little distracting, and I’m kind of self-conscious about it. The guy who took the picture seems unsure if anything can be done about it, and in any case he has several dozen pictures to deal with, so I don’t expect him to give this much attention.
Is there anyone here who is willing to take a look? I have no idea what the going rate for Photoshop wizardry is, but I’m willing to pay for your time. If you’re interested, please PM me.
I’ve been working with Photoshop for over 20 years. There’s not much I can’t do with that program.
I recently launched a new business: web design/development, photo enhancement/restoration and more (a 180 degree career change after 30 years). I’d be happy to retouch your head-shot for free. I just request an honest testimonial of my work upon completion (business is slow; I need to build my portfolio).
I’ll IM you my email address. If interested, send me the highest resolution file you can (jpeg, png, psd, raw, etc.). Let me know if you want any special enhancements (e.g. larger eyes, blemish/scar removal, etc.).
The OP isn’t asking for a Steve Buscemi to Brad Pitt type transformation. He/she is asking for correction of eye distortion and removal of artifacts.
An actor who submits head shots with no basic enhancement (color/contrast correction, artifact/blemish/distortion removal), would have a hard time competing against the 99.9% of actors who do.
In the future, if you or anyone else is interested in these sorts of retouching services, retouchup.com does a good and affordable job. I do not work for them and am not affiliated with them, but I am a photo professional who has used them in a pinch for background removals and things of that nature, and I know many photographers who have used them and also had good experiences with them.
