Any songs on your iPod which would invoke contempt and mockery from your friends?

The ones that would probably generate the most ridicule I would imagine is everything by Britney Spears (I have her greaest hits on there I imagine some people I know would take the piss out of Fall Out boy, Panic! at the Disco and All American Rejects (And sevreal others in that whole genre). I could care less though - its my ipod I will listen to whatever I please!

I have some Brittany Spears and N’Sync on my iPod. Also have the Carpenters and “One Tin Soldier” by The Coven. Hopefully The Frames and Wilco will redeem me.

Today I added:
“Total Eclipse Of The Heart” by Bonnie Tyler
“Baker Street” by Gerry Rafferty
“One Night In Bangkok” by Murray Head

but I also added “In Heaven” from Eraserhead, so I’m still cool, right?

Actually, I have very little shame when it comes to music. I also own ABBA’s Number Ones, for example, but that’s just great pop music.

That’s why you choose the “skip when shuffling” option

Umm…

I may, or may not, have nearly everything Jimmy Buffet has ever recorded on my iPod.

Ok… I in fact do have nearly everything he’s recorded on my iPod.
Can’t help it… reminds me of my dad, but there would still be mockery… Oh yes.

There’s nothing wrong with Aqua!! (Just don’t tell anyone I said that!)

Other embarassing songs:
Ice Ice Baby (and, yes, I know all the words)
Animal (Def Leppard)
I Saw the Sign

One that I want but can’t find: Take on Me by A-Ha

iTunes has “Take On Me” by a-ha (spelled just that way). That’s where I found it.

What? :dubious:

I have multiple versions of “Iko Iko” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Everything else on there is pretty easy to justify.

Oh, also, there’s the Michael Stipe/Natalie Merchant version of “To Sir With Love.”

I have about three albums’ worth of Men Without Hats on iTunes.

But those are both great songs! I see nothing to mock there.

I dont have an iPod, my superior mp3 player has the Disneyland Paris Parade song “Dancin’ A Catchy Rhythm”.

I don’t own an iPod or an MP3 Player, which is enough to evoke contempt and mockery from people as it is without getting into my somewhat eclectic and incomprehensible taste in music

On my computer (I don’t have a portable mp3 player that I use), I do have music which might have inspired ridicule if the rest of my collection were not so very eclectic. I have a friend who thought he enjoyed a wide variety of music, but my collection takes it to another level. Buddist nuns chanting, catholic monks chanting, punk renditions of nursery rhyme, classical, baroque, punk, pop, rock, alternate, jazz, satire, klezmer, rap, hip hop, Yiddish jingles, c&w, cowboy, bluegrass, R&B, sound effects, big band, show tunes, show tunes in Yiddish, political jingles, and much more. The more music I listen to, the more I learn to like.

One of KellyM’s contributions to my collection is the Aqua CD with “It’s a Barbie World” on it. She bought it because there was a legal case about it, but we like to listen to it.

I like this song, although I don’t have it on my iPod. We heard it on the radio yesterday and I mentioned to my husband that I like it and he said, “Air Supply? What is wrong with you?” So I suppose he’d ridicule me if I did have it on my iPod…

Anyway, I have cruddy low-brow taste in music and I’m sure any music snob would be appalled by my iPod. That said, the worst song I have is probably Dolly Parton’s “Me and Little Andy,” which is some sad, sad shit. In my defense, I don’t have it because I like it, but so, when I’m talking to somebody about terrible songs, I can prove that it is one of the worst ever written.

“Heart & Soul” - T’Pau
“Hazy Shade of Winter” - The Bangles
“Smooth Criminal” - Alien Ant Farm
“Good Vibrations” - Marky Mark & Los Bunchos Funky

I have an 80’s music problem…

I just skimmed through my iPod and the oddest is probably Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” but that’s a good song for driving to. I guess the worst must be The Corrs, but only the early stuff that’s not real poppy.

Everything else I’ve gotten rid of so it doesn’t count!

I have T’Pau’s “Heart and Soul” and Kenny Loggins’s “Danger Zone” on my iPod. Nice to know that I’m among friends!

The Top Gun soundtrack has all sorts of cheesy '80s pulse-pounding good stuff.

When come back, bring different friends.

Death Cab For Cutie.

I don’t have an iPod(not even sure what it is) but i have songs on my computer that are, well, not cool.

Abba- Dancing Queen
Four Lads- Istanbul
Cher- Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves
Joey Scarbury- Greatest American hero
Village People- YMCA
Village People- In The Navy
Jerry Vale - Al Di La
Frankie Laine- I Believe

I have the Barry White Antology and the Casablaca Records Antology, and I play them a lot.
