any way to make it so smilies do not appear in posts for me?

Is there a setting that would delete smilies from posts when I read them? I tried turning off “show images” in the user CP but nothing happened. Ideally I’d like them not to show up at all, but that’s probably not realistic. I would be OK if they just appeared as plain-text.

Is there any way to make this happen?

My ad-blocking software lets me rightclick on the images I don’t want to see any more and add them to my blocked list.

Yep, just block

and no more smilies for you!

:smack: i should have thought of that

Did you seriously just use a smiley in your thread asking how to make them not show up?

He doesn’t know.

He came back two hours after his post. He might have nor revisited it. Or, he might just not have an answer. Time may tell. …

^that’s on some big brother type shit

Yeah, I thought that was a strange response as well (from sam).

You guys do realize all of us can do that same thing, right? For example, ToeJam was last online at 12:32, a little more than 2 hours after his last post in this thread. Check your profile page. It’s public information. (Unless you like to go invisible.)

I’ll GET you and your little dog, too! :p:p

…giving away information like that…

i thought you meant I came back to this thread, which was accurate. can you tell who looked at what thread, and when, or just when someone last visited the board?

Yes, I know everyone can do so, that’s why I thought it was a strange thing to point out like that.

If you typed that from a computer with a webcam, they can even tell how your eyes dart from one word to the next, revealing what things you find of interest. I suggest a quick run to the supermarket to buy many rolls of tin foil (which is now the much less effective aluminium, of course).
