Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Well, I gotta give it to H to put Reigns over like that. Dunno if it will work or not, but I guess we’ll have to see.

Won’t see Raw tomorrow because gaming, but I’ll read the reports Tuesday.

My dog pulled the plug before the ending…

Wonder why Barrett wasn’t out there with the other LoNs? Did he get some Bad News?

Gotta say, Sheamus will take the scars and welts to sell the violence.

The New Day/Lucha Dragons/Usos match stole the show. That and Ambrose/KO made the event worth the ten dollars.

So my new laptop that I got in June broke because it’s a POS and I only bought it because I had to and…ugh. So I have no computer access at home atall for the next week or so, which means no multitasking during wrestling, grrrrr. That being said, I did see the PPV.

Pre show: Good match as always. I’ll mention it again once I go through the Paige/Charlotte BS but WWE is hitching their Divas wagon to the wrong ladies. This match wasn’t as good as when Sash and Becks fought on NXT, but it was longer than I thought it would be and still a good match overall. Thing that I hate though: WWE turning Team BAD into New Day with Boobs. It makes sense though because they’re all black, and the New Day is black, and black people are all the same right Vince?

Tag-Team Craziness: Wow what a spot! You knew from the get-go that the Lucha Booties were only in it for the high spots, but what high spots they were. Say what you will about Sin Cara, but dude laid himself out multiple times for the show. Loved Xavier on commentary because Cole screwing up was just hilarious. Loved that X just chucked the trombone at Kallisto and that’s what helped them win, and I’m glad they won.

Ryback/Rusev: Who even cared about this match even a little? Stupid

ECW/Wyatts: OMG the Wyatts won on a PPV! And convincingly! Obviously the weak Wyatt went out, but good for them for winning and good for ECW to put them over. All that being said, I was falling asleep during this match and remember very little of it.

Dean/KO: A good match that should have had a stipulation attached to it. Congrats to Dean for winning the title, I look forward to him losing it again tonight for stupid reasons. Finally someone had a good counter to the pop-up powerbomb

Sheamus/Reigns: I could go on a friggin rant here about the damn fans both in the arena and ESPECIALLY on Twitter but I’ll condense it to this: You can’t have it both ways. If you want to boo, then boo. But you can’t boo and make stupid chants, then chant this is awesome, then do ANOTHER stupid chant, and then cheer. All that tells me is that you secretly like Reigns but are just “too cool” to say otherwise. These guys KILLED themselves for this match. Holy shitballs the punishment that Sheamus took was insane, especially at the end. Reigns at least has the vest, Sheamus has NOTHING ON. Ending annoyed me (I’d be pissed at Usos/Dean if I were RR) but it seems to be going in an interesting direction with Trips. Maybe a Reigns/Trips match at 'Mania?

I’m going to miss RAW again because of Soccer, so if anyone can give a quick 2-second recap that’d be great.

…So I guess we’re gonna be doing Roman vs. Trips at 'Mania, and someone else is going to win the Rumble and take on Sheamus? An interesting development at least - Roman actually got over at the end, which is obviously a plus from WWE’s point of view, even if it’s just as a B-grade Daniel Bryan knockoff.

I was kinda surprised they let Tommy Dreamer come out wearing a House of Hardcore shirt - I can’t recall when WWE’s ever allowed that level of advertising for a competitor on the air.

The ladder matches were both great, Ambrose vs. Owens was a barnburner (and surprisingly enough, they actually let Ambrose win), and I loved that we got to see Ric Flair actually be his old weasel-esque cheating self instead of the drunk old grandpa he usually is when he shows up.

Crowd may be eating it up, but I don’t think Roman can carry his end of this.

For the first time in a long time I’m not watching Raw tonight. After last night it’s time for me to admit that the product has passed me by. It’s stale. It’s repetitive. I’m tired of watching each week and waiting for something to excite me. For instance, the whole Triple HHH thing with Reigns last night. Yawn. So tonight Trips or Steph comes out and makes life miserable for Reigns. We’ve seen it a thousand times. It’s old. And I’ve finally realized they will not show me what I want to see. So I’m out.

I’m keeping the Network though. I can’t get enough of the NWA era stuff.

Proof Positive that Vince is completely fucking out of it.

He somehow thought bringing himself in to continue the Evil Owner Storyline into it’s 15th millenia would pop ratings.

I just turned it off. More of the same. Not interested.

Well, Reigns is champion now. That was… unexpected.

I’m going to take credit for that because I wrote in the survey that WWE “relies too much on the PPVs and you need to have title changes (even world title changes) happen on RAW to keep interest”

Coincidence? Obviously.

I finally got to where I don’t die all the time in Minecraft, so I wasn’t paying too much attention to RAW. It sounded like they were continuing some issues from TLC, and I heard Vince growling a lot. Apparently he wrote Roman’s lines referencing small testicles. Roman is pretty good at pulling off the confident swashbuckler, but his lines sound like a 5th grader wrote them.

I miss Seth. He pulled off the spoiled privileged heel better than Sheamus.

I agree Vince is a withered blowhard well past his prime, but he’s had his moments. I think my favorite Vince moment was when he was in the hospital and Mankind went to cheer him up. It was the debut of Mr. Socko. Vince was really in his element recoiling in disgust from Mankind’s good intentions. The topper came when Stone Cold Steve Austin masqueraded as the doctor and stomped a mudhole in Vince, to paraphrase Jim Ross.

Apparently even Forbes thinks WWE needs to put an end to the Evil Owner crap.

I got my hopes up last night that Vince would take the wheel and turn the ship. No such luck, of course he’s the one keeping on this course so no surprise their. Congratulations Roman, finally proving that everyone will be Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship for 15 minutes someday, and not just 5.

Joey Ryan, who you may remember from when he forced another wrestler to submit to his dick in the most non-gay way possible, has reportedly signed with Lucha Underground and will be appearing in season 2.

The possibilities are limitless, people.

I think the Ryback owes me some royalties for plastering my screen name on the front of his ring gear at TLC.

IIRC, Brock’s match in Japan was originally set to be a house show that they later decided they’d show live on the Network (partly for Brock, partly for Owens/Balor). I’m thinking that road to hell thingy on the Network had similar origins. I would not be at all surprised that if this Brock/ADR match actually takes place (card subject to change) it would similarly wind up airing on the Network live.

Joey Ryan in LU? Looking forward to seeing the power of the penis (in a not gay way).

The Wyatts vs ECW on RAW was shit tons better than TLC. Tables matches are so blah. Unless they’re stacked 3 high, on fire, and powerbombed through.

Well, Takeover 8: London Calling is only about three hours away, so here’s some last-minute predictions;

  • Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe. I think Joe’s gonna win here, and come Takeover 9: Dempsey Does Dallas, he’ll be defending against Sami Zayn or Hideo Itami if Hideo is back by then.

  • Bayley vs. Nia Jax. Nia has a good shot at winning here as well - I can easily see this being a repeat of Brock/Cena last year, where she just completely destroys Bayley. It’s probably for the best that Izzy won’t be in the crowd for this one.

  • The Mechanics vs. the Realest Guys in the Room. Enzo & Cass should win here - they’ve had and lost several tag titles shots already. On the other hand, they’re over enough that they don’t really need to be champions, so it’s possible that Dash & Dawson retain and we see Jordan and Gable become the next champs.

  • Apollo Nation vs. Baron Corbin. Gotta give this one to Apollo.

  • Emma vs. Asuka. Well, Emma, it’s been nice having you back, but I’m afraid you’re going to die now.

Sami Zayn is also supposed to be wrestling tonight, though his opponent hasn’t been announced and they may not air his match until next week. It’s been rumored that Zack Sabre Jr. might be coming in to fight him, which would be pretty interesting indeed - Zack is a top British indie wrestler who’s worked extensively in Japan and in PWG over the past decade, had a match with Daniel Bryan back in 2008 that was considered one of the best of the year, and last year won Wrestling Observer’s “best technical wrestler” award (after eight straight years of Bryan winning it). We shall see.

I guess Joe winning the NXT title would make sense, in that he would have eventual defense runs against Finn, Apollo and Sami, along with Gargano, Ciompa, and Dillinger. I hope this doesn’t mean a callup for Finn. He doesn’t need to be the next Neville.

I don’t see Nia Jaxx winning so soon after her debut. It would make Little Bailey cry. Maybe a DQ with Eva Mannekin interfering, and a beatdown on Bailey after the match to keep the feud ongoing.

Enzo & Cass don’t need the titles to get over, and Jordan & Gable are the heirs apparent to a title chase anyway. Dash & Dawson should set the mold as the despicable heel champs for at least a few more months, and the feud with Jordan & Gables would be reminiscent of the Four Horsemen vs Rock and Roll Express Era. Gables will be new Ricky Morton, getting beat up for 15 minutes until the hot tag to Jordan.

Apollo over Corbin seems likely. It remains to be seen how well Corbin will sell Apollo’s “strong man” moves, like getting military pressed. I still don’t think Corbin’s “there” yet, but he’s getting closer.

Asuka over Emma also seems likely, but I could see a scenario where Dana grabs her foot or something and allows Emma to get a cheap victory, thus continuing the feud. Asuka would destroy them both after the match in retribution to regain her heat. I’ll go with this as my upset pick.

The pre-show’s on right now and they’re doing it from a studio in Titan Towers instead of live in the arena, so I assume that means they are indeed taping for next week right now.

I’m just happy that for once this show’s on in a time slot where I’m not asleep or at work.

And here comes the show.
