The difference being, had Shane won at WM, he’d be in control of Raw next week as well.
For all we know, he will be. They’ve announced Dr. Phil as “guest host” - I’m envisioning an angle where they bring him out to try and solve Vince and Shane’s problems and it turns into a fight and there ends up being another match at Payback where Shane wins and the Authority goes away.
If this turned into a Shane vs. Vince match it could be worthwhile, assuming it happened several years back. Shane’s drop off the cell might somehow convince Vince to stupidly get back in the ring but that will result in a garbage fight. Maybe we’ll see Taker go after Vince and Shane will run in to rescue him. More likely Shane did this to protect the value of the company he’ll own someday and he’ll go away before long to wait for Vince to die.
Oh, and GOOD FUCKING GOD, Natalya. Why are you made up like some weird-assed S&M fetishist? Is that what you do behind the scenes the rest of the day? Is that what Vince likes? Did someone actually tell you that looked good???
I don’t hear Tyson Kidd complaining, do you?
I can’t bring myself to agree with you.
Sad news in the wrestling podcasting world.
David Shoemaker is leaving Cheap Heat. He was my favorite part of my favorite podcast! Grrrrr
Just got my ticket to see NXT when it comes to Seattle next month! I nearly forgot they went on sale today and wasn’t able to get one of the primo seats, but I got a seat that I think is close to where the ring is going to be. They’re doing this at the Paramount Theatre, which is one of the old grand movie houses of the '20s that’s since been converted into a live venue, so I think they’re doing a setup like the Columbus show last year where they’ll put the ring on the floor and have the wrestlers enter from the stage.
Right now they’re listing Finn, Joe, Bayley, Apollo, and Baron Corbin as scheduled to be there, so it oughta be a fun night.
Are they using these as tapings? or as house shows?
Just a house show tour as far as I know. They’re doing Spokane the day after and Portland the day after that. I’m not planning to follow them through the region like I usually do, because A) Seattle-Spokane-Portland in three days is an absurd travel schedule and B) I’m already going to Portland the week afterward to see the Who live and going twice within one week seems a bit much.
Any idea who No Way Jose is?
and did Los Matadors get repackaged into Puerto Rican tour guides? That will hit a sink hole PDQ.
I know I keep saying this and it never happens, or at least, it hasn’t happened in two years now, but dang, with all the call-ups and signings, they have got to be close to doing another mass release.
Given the package/music I’m betting it’s either…
Lenny Valenzuela Jr. This is most likely, although they could have changed his name
Hugo Knox. I doubt this because he’s really not ready and they were teasing a heel turn/character change last house show. But he does have a weird dance thing like the music in the promo.
Blackjack Mulligan rode off into the sunset for the final time.
I remember him mainly from 1970’s NWA Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. I saw him take on another big Texan, Cowboy Bob Duncam, in Greenville SC. He started off as a heel, then switched to babyface. The dude was huge and strong and tossed around his opponents effortlessly. Now I get to see his grandsons Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas perform and see the influence he had on them.
Thanks for the memories, Blackjack.
If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, read Kevin Owens’s twitter feed. It’s full of snarky goodness.
He’ll get tweets like “My girlfriend just dumped me. Say something insensitive and mean-spirited.” He’ll reply “She was right.” He’s a grammar nazi and pounces on wrongly-used homophones like “you’re” and “your.” Some people will send him selfies and he’ll make fun of them. “That kid behind you wishes you weren’t there.” “Stop sucking in your gut and get some curtains that don’t look like they’re from 1955.” “Idiot.” and others.
Enzo cut a great promo on last week’s RAW, but that style could get rather grating on a long-term basis.
Because neither Ms. Cups nor I know which one is Gallows and which one is Anderson we are just calling them “king size” and “fun size”
Gallows is the Festus-sized one.
Didn’t watch tonight as I was too busy rocking out to Iron Maiden live in concert, but it sounds like they set some interesting things into motion tonight. They seem to be moving Roman into more of an Austin-esque anti-face role, which would probably suit him a lot better than the attempts to make him Cena 2.0 or Bryan 2.0.
Rumor has it that Finn will be staying in NXT for awhile, at least until summer - there are rumblings that they’re going to do another live Network special from Tokyo that will feature Finn vs. Nakamura for the title. In the meanwhile, I wonder if they’re going to team Gallows and Anderson back up with AJ - perhaps they get involved in the match at Payback to help him win the title, and the three of them form an nWo-ish invader stable (since Bullet Club was basically just an nWo ripoff in the first place)?
It would be a cold day in Hell when AJ Styles wins the WWE Championship.
