Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Spear of Doom wins lol

Welp, I’d say this PPV was worth it just for KO vs Zayn and Cesaro vs Miz. No bad matches to speak of.

How is a spear worse than all the other moves that he (and especially aj) have?

The good news is, Enzo has reportedly been discharged from the hospital, so hopefully it was a minor concussion and he won’t miss too much time.

WWE spent all night going on about how this show was the start of a “New Era”. Based on what we got, the defining attributes of the New Era are;

  • Distraction rollups
  • Referees not seeing the heel tap out
  • Guest commentators interfering with the match
  • McMahon family squabbling
  • The Montreal Screwjob

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Here’s Enzo leaving the hospital, looking as plucky as ever. Glad he’s OK.

And here’s Kevin being Kevin.

HA. Point to you.

So, overall I think last night was really good. Every match was solid, although the endings left a lot to be desired, it was still good wrestling.

I think the “dual managers” thing is going to go in one of two directions. The first (and most likely IMO) is going to be that the two McMahons will conflict each other on decisions and eventually have some “winner takes all” kind of match. The second, is that they actually work well together, morale goes up, and this is the beginning of the long-rumored Steph face turn. I do wonder where trips fits in to all this though.

The end of the title match last night was stupid. I would love if they kept having rematches and kept having King and Fun size interfere and the Usos come out and eventually have a Survivor Series between team AJ/Bullet Club and Team Hawaii.

Anyone catch that Enzo getting hurt got a tweet and a writeup on Sportscenter? This new partnership is working out like gangbusters for WWE that’s for sure

“What’s with the suit?”

“What’s with the tent?”

“Ha ha, look at these losers.”

Big Ass impressed me tonight. He’s strong and he stepped when he needed to.

Supposedly, Ryback has been sent home indefinitely. He’s not happy with the way his career has been going and thinks he should be headlining. WWE booking says whatever, we got plenty willing to take your place. Maybe he should tour the country and promote self-help books. That’s a pretty good racket.

That was pretty funny when the Dudleyz kept telling the Vaudevillains to step it up. JBL kept trying to push them by name dropping wrestlers from a century ago that nobody’s heard of, but I think their match with ND is going to be a dud. Maybe if they tied Enzo to a railroad track…

There’s nothing inherently wrong with the Vaudes, I just think their character is misunderstood for now. I also think they’re trending in right direction. They’re looking/acting more heel-ish. Both of the guys can talk, so if they keep on shitting on the people the crowd loves (like Enzo and Cass) and keep acting like heels, I think their look, actions and name (vaude-VILLIANS) will click.

I can’t really imagine them headlining or carrying the load like New Day has recently, but I can see them in the title hunt as the nefarious heels.

Reprehensible scoundrels and scallywags, those gents.

They are indeed churlish rapscallions and underhanded miscreants, by Jove.

For land’s sake, they’re nothing more than reprobates and blackguards!

Good riddance to Ryback. He’s not a main event character or wrestler. And his need to continually take swipes at CM Punk (when Punk obviously doesn’t give two shits about The Big Guy) is tiresome and childish.

I know HE thought he had the tools to replace John Cena and be the top guy, but quite clearly he did not. He was never a natural promo, always seeming a bit too forced and rehearsed, and even then often stumbling over his lines.

Give how bad he looked whining on the Table for 3 episode (seriously, you go into that sort of thing planning to call the most popular babyface in the company a BULLY for ribbing you? Are you stupid?) and his other stuff always came off the same way.
But now I want to attend WWE shows with signs for the vaudvillains calling them ‘rapscallions’, ‘hooligans’, scoundrels and other old-timey words.

I got an idea for a Vaudevillain promo: It’s filmed in grainy black & white, with narrative placards. They kidnap Xavier Woods, tie him up, and tote him as he kicks his legs and screams for help, like Polly Pureblood.

“What dastardly plans do these villains have for poor Xavier?”

Kofi and Big E are having their Booty-Os for breakfast. An old timey telephone next to them starts vibrating. Big E answers it and his eyes widen.

Big E: “What? Those neer-do-well Vaudevillains have kidnapped poor Xavier!”

Kofi: “What gall! Let’s show those rapscallions what for!”

Aiden and Simon are tying Xavier to railroad tracks, and there’s a light off in the distance approaching. They stand aside and twirl their mustaches as Xavier struggles.

“Xavier’s about to get a splitting headache!”

Next shot, the train is almost there. Kofi and Big E jump into the scene and have a fight with the VVs, Batman & Robin style. Every time the camera switches back to the train, it’s at the same distance from Xavier as it was before. Finally, Big E and Kofi do double knockout punches to the VVs and dust off their hands. Cut to train again, still the same distance as before. Xavier is bellowing and making terrified faces. Finally, Big E and Kofi untie him and pull him off the tracks.

The train turns out to be Stardust manning a pump cart, wearing a miner’s helmet.

“That was close!”

Xavier holds a big cereal O, and the camera lens narrows its aperture down to the inner part of the O. “The End.”

So how long until Rose and Ryback are teaming on TNA?

Ryback will join Marc Mero on the motivational speaker circuit, and do his best to get some of those Muscle & Fitness covers along the way.

I wish Raymond Leppan a lot better, but I just had this mental image of him wearing a vest and a pony tail, taking orders at Panera or some place like that. Honestly, I do expect that he would make it in ROH or some other place.

TNA? Why the fuck is anyone signing new contracts with TNA when they can’t pay their bills, they owe former employees in the 6 figure range and their best hope for a buy-out so far has been two neo-nazis who aren’t rich enough to pull it off?
