Former WWE announcer Lillian Garcia appeared as a contestant on Friday’s “College Rivals” episode of The Price is Right.
I watched a couple hours of Hall of Fame. DDP delivered a great speech. About the worst thing Jim Cornette said was that the R&R Express were having more sex on their way to the ring than most people have in a year. Ricky Morton announced he had 7 children and 7 grandchildren, and Robert Gibson added “and they all look like me.”
I didn’t pay much attention during Rick Rude’s induction. Beth Phoenix turned out to have a really interesting speech, as it went into detail about the history of women’s wrestling in WWE, and how much the women supported each other. Turns out she’s been married to Edge and has a couple of girls with him. Also, Cass and Carmella are actually a couple. He looked like he was keeping his eye on her all evening.
I can’t get over how consistently NXT Takeover makes the main roster look so mediocre.
The Triple Threat Triple Elimination match is my match of the year so far. Brilliant storytelling. The good guys team with their archenemies to combat the bigger more monstrous threat, and AoP winds up looking really strong without making DIY and Revival look like chumps.
Drew MacEnGalloway is in the audience! Will he join NXT? I think he’ll do better here than the main roster.
Sorry Jose, Kassius has more heat than you, so switch places. That has to suck.
The Hardy’s dropped the ROH tag titles tonight and then cut a promo putting the new champs over hard. Basically doing what’s best for business as they possibly leave the promotion.
I wonder if they have plans for tomorrow night?
On top of that, Jeff ended it by saying “Now we will fade away and classify ourselves as ob-so-leete” (OBSOLETE!)
That was a kickass match too btw. First time I’ve ever seen the young bucks…not bad.
I’ll go out on a limb and say that match was better than anything that’s going to happen tomorrow. The only way it could have been better would have been if Hunter had driven a dump-truck full of money up to Jim Cornette’s house and gotten him to manage the Revival for one night.
I like the new designs for the title belts, too - they look like real championships instead of toys.
Drew McIntyre has officially re-signed with WWE.
3MB reunion confirmed. ![]()
The big ring looks kind of tacky on a multimillion dollar scale.
Those who have pre-show matches don’t get the elaborate entrances like those who come on after sundown. Damnation, if only Finn Balor had a match tonight just for the entrance alone.
OMG Zack Ryder getting injured is the best thing that ever happened to Mojo!!!
I thought this started at 7. :smack:
I’m also a little sad as my internet cut out right at the finish of last night’s Takeover, and while I know what happened, I haven’t seen the finish yet and I heard it was awesome.
OK, the Shane vs AJ match was pretty awesome. I should not doubt the ability of those who grew up in the heart of the business, but I still like to.
Another good match, KO vs Jericho. I loved all the “fuck you” gestures, stealing and countering each other’s finishing moves. They just love to add insult to injury.
Sweet! The RAM women really tore it up. I loved how their entrances were timed with the pyro going off overhead. Nia Jax looked fucking superb. Sasha looked her best ever. Charlotte really channeled a lot of her father tonight, complete with the utter look of disgust when her opponent dared kicked out of her pin. And bailey has mastered the abused victim facial expression. She looks to be on the constant verge of crying. Favorite match tonight so far!

Yeh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh yesssssss!!!
The Seven Deities have SPOKEN! BROTHER NERO AND I ARE TO RETURN TO LAND OF MACK MA HON FOR ULTIMATE GOLD!!!
Oh god that’s the most I marked out in years! Every team got to max out their signature moves. This match was beautifully booked. APPLAUSE APPLAUSE APPLAUSE!!!
This is now my favorite match of the night.
Welp, at least Jerry’s cornball jokes carried the match.
I heard Maryce met Miz the other night in her lingerie. She was coming home.
He went to Jared!
I am so disappointed that Nikki didn’t turn on Cena just then.
Gawd, do you guys realize how much WWE has profited off TNA’s bad decisions? Thus far AJ Styles, then the Broken Hardys! Last night Bobby Roode and Eric Young. Samoa Joe practically bought NXT with the money he brought in. TNA hasn’t been any competition to WWE despite having all that megastar talent, and WWE goes on to turn them into gold.
HHH and Seth had the two coolest entrances tonight. Trips and Steph had the bitch leather ensemble on designer bikes, being escorted by state troopers and getting off some revs. They must have rehearsed that entrance big time.
I liked how meta Seth’s entrance became. He came out a burning torch, then hit the base of the stage with it. The LED animation made it look like a burst of sunfire that traveled down the ramp all the way to the ring, then flared for a few seconds. WWE is actually Super Bowl level production.
