Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Jim Cornette admits that Vince Russo has won their decades-long feud.

Corny wins this round.

I think those two need each other. They come up with their best material when expressing their mutual hate.

Alright, time for some MITB predictions;

  • Men’s MITB match. I’m gonna go with Baron Corbin here - MITB is pretty much a heel gimmick, and I figure that of the heels in this match, he’s the one that can do the most with it.

  • Women’s MITB match. This one is pretty much a crapshoot. Let’s say… Natalya.

  • Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton for the world championship. No way is Jinder getting hindered just yet. He retains, most likely for a match against Sami Zayn at Summerslam. (The Punjabi Sikh champion vs. the ginger-haired Muslim challenger feels like a feud custom-built for the Indian audience WWE has been targeting with Jinder’s push.)

  • The Usos vs. the New Day for the tag titles; New Day, because the Smackdown tag titles have been invisible for months now, and at least ND’s minstrel show antics will remind the viewing audience that they exist.

  • Naomi vs. Lana for the women’s title. Unless CJ Perry has massively improved her in-ring skills in the past few months, she’s got no business beating the second-hottest-member-of-the-Funkadactyls. She probably will, though.

  • The Hype Bros vs. the Large Intestines (i.e. Primo & Epico). This is the pre-show match, which means it doesn’t matter. So… Hype Bros, I guess?

That’s all that’s been announced, and I don’t know how they’re going to fill a PPV card with just five matches unless they’re going to throw in a last-minute match or do a lot of padding.

My MITB predix, done in the style of SD’s ring announcer Greg Hamilton:

Men’s ladder match: BEAR unnn CORRRR BINNNN!
Women’s ladder mastch: CHAR lot FLAIRRRRR!
Naomi vs Lana: Nayyy OOO MEEEE!
Usos vs New Day: Thuh NOOO DAYYYYY!
Jinder vs Randy: JIN der ma HALLLL!
Hype Bros vs The Colons: Thuh HYPE BRU THURRRRS!

WWE Security forced to gun Big Show down when child climbs into cage

I think Big Show would have preferred to go out this way.

I’m going to hope that Jinder goes over and that Randy doesn’t deliberately half-ass it. WWE has been semi-public in their criticism that Orton doesn’t always leave it all in the ring (ie, give a shit) and I’m hoping that point hits his brain. That being said, I said from the beginning that Orton was entirely the wrong person to put Mahal over and they need to move on to a more enthusiastic (and OVER) face who can oppose him.

Sami Zayn may well be that person, because when I look at the Smackdown roster, I don’t see any other credible faces. The roster is stacked with heels and they may be calling Orton a face right now, but he’s a terrible face at best.
Gotta go with Corbin on the MitB match too. He’s the perfect guy for it. Will he get to cash it in? I’d say that depends a lot on his backstage attitude between now and whenever. Get a big head about it? LOSE!!

BUT - it seems reasonable that the end here is a Sami-Jinder feud that ends with Sami winning the belt for all of 5 seconds before Corbin comes down and takes it away from him.

Hype Bros is a given. The Colons are tag team jobbers.

I think Usos - New Day has a chance to be the best match on the card. Both teams are good and really work hard. I have no issues with either team winning, I’m just still somewhat unhappy that American Alpha has been so horribly misused and ignored since their call-up. (FUCK YOU, Vince!)

The Women’s match has all the ingredients to be a total train wreck cluster fuck. I hope they’re getting a lot of help and advice from the men who have done this kind of match before, and I sincerely hope that none of them are injured here, because it has the potential to decimate the ranks with injuries. I’m not going to make any predictions here because I think this is one Vince will spend too much time playing around with. He likely won’t even decide the winner until an hour before the show.

Well, my family decided to have Father’s Day Dinner tonight, so I guess I’ll be missing the majority of it. I’m also leaving town tomorrow morning, so I’ll miss RAW and Smackdown and have to catch up later.

“Wait, who is this? BROCK LESNAR? Brock has come out to confront Jinder Mahal!”
“OH MY GOD, Jinder just beat down Brock Lesnar!”

Betting odds have increased that the women’s MiTB will feature a surprise 6th contender: a Ms. (Mrs?) Nikki Bella. And she’s going to win.

I really hope not. I have nothing against Nikki, honestly I don’t, but her time has come and gone and she doesn’t need to win…she needs to put someone over.

Maria Cannabis er, Kannellis and Mike Bennett are rumored to be backstage tonight.

Guess this means they finally got over the traumatic Laurel Van Ness wedding.

Can anybody get on? I’m hung up at the login window.

I’ve been on since the beginning using the Playstation, might be an internet/computer thing

I hope this doesn’t have anything with me trying to use my Roku to log in. I couldn’t remember the pw my browser normally keeps for me.

There we go. I turned off the Roku remote on my phone. That might have had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I can’t get in through my browser

Finally got in after about 15 refreshes. I’m watching the Women’s MITB match, why do I need commercials selling me the Women’s MITB match?

World: We want a women’s Money in the Bank!

WWE: Women’s revolution! Let’s let them fight! They have a Money in the Bank match!

Vince: Let’s have the man win it!

Everyone:…wait what?

BTW I definitely realize they could change this and go back

Sgt. Slaughter has lost a lot of weight. He’s looking like he could go back out there.

I couldn’t tell if Lana was any good or not because I kept undressing her with my eyes.

Ugh.

I can see how people might think she’s hot, but after seeing her in person at the last house show…she’s much uglier in person than on tv.

Also, as I’m typing this…holy shit it’s the Kanellises!

I am a long time wrestling nerd. Of those AWA veterans, I’ve seen Ric Flair, Baron Von Raschke, and Cowboy Bob Orton live.
