Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Because India has 1.295 billion more potential viewers than Seattle. Khali is their Hulk Hogan. McMahon would book Mahatma Gandhi in a starvation match to get ratings.

Well, maybe if we roped in Bellevue and Everett, and talked Jeff Bezos into making WWE mandatory viewing on Amazon Prime Video… :stuck_out_tongue:

This actually reminded me of an article I read which stated that a third-party marketwatch company stated the WWE is being criminally underpaid in their current contract by USA and that they should look at other avenues for their programming, including Facebook Live. I highly doubt they’d do this, no matter how much money Zuckerberg throws at them, because this would be suicide for WWE. However, this is also the first I’ve ever heard of an outside source say the WWE is MORE valuable than what we think it is.

So how 'bout that PPV last night huh? Holy crap that’s bad. I’ve only been watching current wrestling for about 3 or 4 years, but that was the worst PPV I have ever seen.

Well, like one recap said, watch through the New Day/Usos match, then turn it off.

The rest of it was CRAP.

If they’re going to take the belt off Jinder at Summerslam, I’m hoping his opponent is AJ Styles, who may be able to carry him to a passable match.

Thanks for letting me know not to waste my time.

I’m already sick of the Angle/Jordan angle.

Angle: “Gosh, it’s so thrilling to see my son in the ring. I love him so much!”

Jordan: “Gosh, it’s thrilling to be in the ring doing what my dad did! I love him so much!”

Vince: “See? I’m not out of touch. I’m using interracial stuff. Remember when I made myself a midget’s father? I’ve been cutting edge before there was cutting edge!”

My assumption for the endgame is that this is a scam that Graves and Jordan are running on Angle. I’m not sure why yet, other than general Jordan elevation, but then again I still don’t know why Cass was beating himself up if his goal was to split from Enzo. “Why” is often not WWE’s strongest suit…

Discovered I can get through all of RAW and Smackdown in one night, which also lead me to realize just how formulaic WWE is.

When it came to a match, I knew I could fast forward at least through the first commercial and even a little longer until I finally hit the end of the match. Rinse and repeat that for the whole show, skip most of the promos…and BOOM…got a 3 hour show knocked out in, like, 70 minutes.

Rumors that Cena will face Mahal at Summerslam, but probably not win.

Cena doesn’t need that and I don’t know that having 76 people help Jinder win helps him either. Put Shinsuke Nakamura in that match and let him take the strap.

I figured John “I know want to put over the young guys” Cena would let Nakamura win…

What would be awesome to me would not only be Nakamura in that match and winning the title, but Cena coming out and cleaning up the Singh Brothers to clear the outside interference.

Cueto Cup: The Mack vs Texano

These two put on a clinic. They’re both big guys who can move like luchas, and they traded mad skillz. Famous B jumped into the ring, making a sales pitch to Mack, who in turn gave him a Stone Cold Stunner and bounced him out of the ring. Texano, never one to pass up an opportunity, took advantage of the distraction and got the pin on Mack.

Backstage: The Rabbit Tribe are hanging out. Paul London and Mala Suerte were playing checkers on Saltador’s body when Mascarita Sagrada entered carrying a gift-wrapped present almost as big as he. The three rabbit tribers open it, throw styrofoam peanuts everywhere, and find… a rabbit’s foot.

Cueto Cup - Drago (w/Kobra Moon) vs Pentagon Dark

This had one of the best aftermaths. After Pent’s victory, he set up Drago for the Arm Breaker. Aerostar did a run-in and bounced off the top rope to kick Pent out of the ring. He then tried to rescue Drago from Kobra’s clutches by offering his hand his friendship, but Drago rebuffed his offer and left him laying in the ring. Pent in the meantime, did not take kindly to having his post-match Ritual of Maiming disrupted, so he returned and broke Aerostar’s arm. Drago and Kobra gaped while watching the carnage, thinking “Gosh, he’s more evil than we are!”

In the dark hallway, Catrina confronted did her shadow walk trick to appear in front of Pent. She promised him Mil Muertes would not show him any mercy in their eventual match, because the Cueto Cup was destined for her. It’s written in ancient Aztec prophecies or something. Silly Angel of Death, it’s not nice to taunt Pentagon Dark. He will do something symbolically soul-destroying in retaliation.

PJ Black vs Rey Mysterio Jr.
PJ was never this good in WWE. Neither was Rey Rey for that matter. PJ manages to anticipate a 619 attack and counters it. Rey is beat up for 15 minutes, then turns the tide, but the ref has one hit point and takes a bump, allowing the World Wide Underground to run in and cause havoc. El Dragon Azteca comes to the rescue and runs them off. Rey finally connects with the BOODIKA BOODIKA 619 and splashes Black for the win.

Whilst recapping the news of the day, the local radio guys mentioned the potential Lesnar versus Jon Jones UFC fight that’s been rumored. They made it seem like it was more iminent than it was, but that’s another discussion. Right after that, one of them said that he heard strong rumors of “another big WWE star moving to the UFC”. Then they talked about Cena doing it because they know nothing of wrestling.

This “other big star” is news to me though, anyone heard something like that recently? Who else would it be? Nakamura cuz he’s done it before? Jack Gallager has too, but he’s not big. Becky Lynch?

Well, Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) has made some noise about it, most recently in May of this year. If WWE does something stupid like release his wife, I wouldn’t be too shocked if he walked away as well.

Of course, both of those things would be Epic Level Vince Screwup, but who knows.

Just got tix to an NXT House Show on Thursday.

Should be good because I think they’re off their midwest tour by then…

So what are everyone’s thoughts about putting the main event in the middle of the show? I think it’s a good idea in theory to change things up, but a bad idea because you’re killing your already terrible third hour even more

I have to admit that I only half-paid attention to last night’s show. Probably the only match I sat back and watched was Bayley-Nia Jax.

Brock didn’t want to get stuck in traffic.

(That’s my unfounded, unsubstantiated theory and I’m sticking with it)

The near constant ads for The Sinner, the new USA series are really getting tiring and starting to piss me off. If the Nakamura-Cena match wasn’t still to come, I’d turn off the damned show.

Breezango had a funny tribute to Twin Peaks last night. The owls weren’t what they seemed.

There’s supposed to be another roster shakeup after Summer Slam, and some may even go to NXT. Cena’s allegedly heading to RAM. So, who do you guys think will be moving?

I’m hoping Harper & Rowan relocate to RAM to reunite the Wyatts (plzplzplzplzplzpleeeeze) in exchange for Gallows & Anderson, who are essentially getting replaced by the Revival anyway. RKOrton and Big Show will trade places and enhance talent. I’m thinking Darren Young is bound for NXT, since the “great again” angle didn’t fly. Aleister Black is supposedly on the short track to prime time, so I’m hoping he’ll get called to RAM and feud with Finn Balor. Drew McEnGalloway is probable, but I’d rather he stay in NXT. He’s got more of an underground appeal. No Way Jose is instant kid poppage, so I think he’ll head to SD. Asuka, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce are next in line for Women’s Division callups. The Cruiserweights could use some new blood, so I’ll go with Gargano and Ciampa. Maybe Blake & Murphy will reunite with Alexa on RAM to be her male bitches.
