Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Looks more like Rusev is trolling the rumors.

I don’t think the “going out on your back” tradition is all that important here. It’s not as if Asuka is retiring, or is going to ROH or TNA or something - she’s switching to a different brand under the same corporate umbrella, with most of the same fans, and she’ll be wrestling these same people again in a year or two if/when they get called up.

Breaking an undefeated streak just for the sake of breaking it isn’t a good idea unless you have the perfect person to break it for. Compare what happened to the Undertaker’s career after his streak ended to Hogan in 1991 to what’s happened to guys like Rusev and Bray Wyatt after Cena broke their streaks. You have to have just the right person to break it, so that, when it happens, it puts the winner over without making the loser look like a chump, and I don’t think anyone in NXT is at that level right now. Ember Moon was at one point, but she’s had multiple title shots at Asuka and failed every time.

I assume they’ll end up awarding the belt to the winner of the MYC, which would be a fitting prize and set someone up as the new top person to beat.

Apparently at Triplemania tonight, a women’s four-way match turned into a leigitimate shoot fight that ended when Sexy Star slapped an armbar on Rosemary and refused to release it after the tapout, dislocating her elbow.

I can’t imagine that GFW is going to want to keep sharing talent with them after this fiasco, and Vampiro is going to be out of a job soon if he doesn’t get the locker room under control.

Vampiro apparently forced a Sexy Star apology, though whether or not she was genuinely apologetic is anyone’s guess.

Usually, when one wrestler hurts another, it’s either an accident, intentional blading, or one of them is stiffer than they need to be. This looks like an intentional maiming, actually a pretty rare occurrence, and done by a woman. I wonder what set Sexy Star off?

As I understand it, it started with Rosemary and Lady Shani (who I’m not familiar with, but judging from a Google Image search appears to be a wrestling knockoff of Kitana from Mortal Kombat) shooting on each other, and Sexy Star got involved later.

I think there must be bad blood in the locker room over the screwjob Vampiro pulled on Taya earlier this year. Short version; Sexy Star quit AAA unmasked and quit AAA last year to pursue a career in boxing. Meanwhile, Taya lost the women’s championship (which she’d held for 3 years) to Ayako Hamada. She won it back the following month in a no-holds-barred match. In June, AAA asked Taya to bring the belt to Mexico City for a photo shoot. While they had it in their possession, Vampiro announced that he was stripping Taya of the belt for using an illegal hold in that rematch (which, you will recall, was no-holds-barred) and awarded it to the suddenly-returned and re-masked Sexy Star. (Re-masking after being unmasked is a big no-no in lucha tradition, too - Rey Mysterio Jr. only got away with it because he convinced the Box Y Lucha commission he’d had no say in being unmasked in WCW.)

For all his in-ring skills and his talent on commentary, Vampiro seems to have learned how to book from Vince Russo.

Watching the first episode of the MYC.

Why does Vanessa Bourne look like a stripper?

Well sheeeit… no wonder season 4 of LU is looking doubtful.

I like Vampiro, but his head’s coming loose.

I just watched this an hour ago, and I beg to differ. As I saw it, Rosemary was the only woman involved in the match who wasn’t stiffing her opponents.

The triumphant return of #birdchirps.

I do not miss King on commentary…

I did notice that Enzo was getting almost zero reaction to his promo until he did the SAWFT thing, and even that was a bit thin.

Then he botched the move that Noam Dar sold anyways.

You’re right, I read the reports wrong. It started with Sexy Star and Shani shooting on each other and Rosemary got dragged into it.

In any event, the consequences are coming down hard on Sexy Star. Cody Rhodes said she’s not welcome in any locker room he works in. CZW and WrestleCircus have both blacklisted her. Road Dogg says there’s no place for her in WWE. Even Iron Sheik came out against her, and shared an interesting-if-true story in the process; in 1983 before his big match with Hogan, Verne Gagne offered him big money to shoot on Hogan, win the match, and bring the belt to AWA, and Sheik refused to break his promise to Vince and Hogan.

wow… just a q what do they do in japan for crap like that ? I know japan liked to be rather stiff but …

I don’t know what they do these days, but here’s a clip from the '70s of Antonio Inoki shooting on a gaijin who decided to no-sell him. (Inoki owned the promotion at the time, of course, so he could get away with it.)

A pretty interesting and shoot-y promo last night huh?

Scripted by people reading all the “dirt sheets”. They were simply checking off all the complaints about the two of them. At least Roman no longer completely sounds like he’s trying to recite his pre-scripted promos.

Well, duh.

Punk’s pipebomb was scripted too, doesn’t make it any less rare and interesting for it to happen.

I was pleasantly surprised with Cena vs Reigns. Cena looked like he was really trying to get under Reigns’s skin, and Reigns’s usual “are you serious?” facial expressions weren’t having any effect. Usually, Roman retains his cool while the other guy melts down, but Cena kept poking the bear. I’m actually interested in this feud.

Eh, very much by-the-book promo burial by Cena with the small exception that Reigns was allowed to take a couple of shots back. Usually it is;

1> Person makes promo, rags on Cena
2> Cena utterly buries person while they’re forced to stand there and take it.
3> The end, no rebuttal, person looks stupid, Cena stands tall.

Also utterly bothered the fuck out of me because most of the things Cena was calling out Reigns for were absolutely true of Cena in his early days.

WrestleCade apparently had Sexy Star booked, they have rescinded that booking. They have announced her replacement as…Rosemary.

We can hope that if there is a Season 4 of LU, they’ll do the same (though I doubt it, both because of the AAA connection, and Chris DeJoseph apparently posted some comments defending Sexy Star, before deleting them)
