Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Ric Flair to make appearance at ALCS game 7.

He’s way up on my all time list of favorite wrestlers, glad he’s doing better now. Death will have a hard time taking the Nature Boy from us. He might have even been faking so he could catch Death off guard and put him in the Figure Four Leg Lock. And if he gets that scythe out of Death’s bony hands you’ll see that hooded figure running from the ring. Go Ric go!

ETA: Go Astros go! Yankees suck.

You’re dead to me.

Death won’t take Ric until he pays Death back the money he borrowed. So Ric will live forever.

Yankees suck so bad I’m rooting for a team from Texas. I don’t want to be alive to a Yankee fan.

Damn. Let’s just stick to agreeing about the Flair vs. Death feud. Hope about they hold a Texas Death Match with those two. Can Death die? Probably not, but he can be put down for a 10 count!

ric flair should die in the ring fighting sting or another great opponent …

Flair would even let Death fling him to the corner for the corner-flip-run-into-a-clothesline maneuver and then take a Gorilla slam.

Asuka’s gonna kill you! Way to draw me into a show.

Actually quite glad they gave Emma some good offense there.

Allow me to demonstrate my wrestling nerdity: It wasn’t Gordon Soley who was known for the phrase “game of human chess.” That was Larry Zybyzko.

Agreed. Asuka needs to sell better, but I still love her.

The social media interns need to wait until they actually say their scripted lines before posting them on Twitter. Mickie Jame’s closing line was up 30 seconds before she said it, and I am watching with no delay.

This show needs more Tables Ladders and Chairs.

ETA: and more Asuka.

Well, that was better than expected. They managed to keep Angle’s activity to a minimum and still have a thrilling match. ASeth and Dean get Worker of the Month creds. I like that Brawn can legitimately hate Miz now, and looks like Kane is going to have a good feud with him. Elias and JJ probably got the most air time. AJ and Finn showed some real professionalism. WWE made for some clever booking and avoided disaster tonight.

r/squaredcircle admitted that while it was a clusterfuck they loved it. Almost unanimously.

I gotta say I mark out over the WWE 2k18 commercial even though I can’t play anything more advanced than Pong.

Angle was pretty solidly protected, took no real shots to his head and neck, disappeared for a long time (during which Seth and Dean earned 100% of the entire available PPV bonuses between the two of them) and then came back to look good and make the pin.

Kane gets a program with Strowman, giving Strowman a chance to work with one of the most experienced guys on the roster before Kane bows out. Good plan, actually.

Made sense that AJ Styles lost. Protecting the Demon character who, so far at least, always wins (until the day he puts someone over by losing) and having the ‘visitor from the other roster’ lose. Great plan, giving the audience a long awaited match to make up for the changes due to illness. I kept thinking that I hoped they just flew AJ home and gave him today and tomorrow off as repayment.

Yeah, not much from Kurt actually. Strowman wrapped that huge arm around his neck to protect it before slamming him. As soon as I saw Kane and Strowman in the ring together I knew those two would go at it before the match was over. Dropping the chain of chairs was a nice touch.

Really didn’t want to see AJ give it up to Balor. AJ is so good technically it’s hard to give him matches to match his skill, Balor didn’t really, he’s flashy but limited.

Impact Wrestling officially severs ties with GFW and Jeff Jerrett.

I’m consistently amazed that they continue to stay in business. I’m not an Impact hater by any stretch of the imagination (I rather enjoy their once-a-month shows and PPVs), but I have no idea how they’re still alive.

Everyone protected Angle, which was very good.

Finn Balor going over A.J. Styles made good sense. It is Finn’s show, and the announcers did their job hammering home the travel fatigue, so A.J. was protected. I liked how A.J. covered the family jewels before the coup-de-grace. Would like to see them work again at Survivor Series, especially if they get some time to practice and gel.

What’s more, easily half their show is footage from the Mexican feds. Jim Cornette can’t enter Canada, so they’re having to find another authority figure. If Dubba J is gone, then I guess Karen is out too. Who’s left, Dutch Mantell? He has to ride a scooter. Not that intimidating.

My guess is they’re going for a more “international” look by networking with the non-American feds that aren’t the top promotions in their countries.

And allow me to demonstrate mine: it’s Gordon Solie, not Soley.

I can see why Balor won, but disagree with a rematch right away; they probably still want to go with The Demon vs. Sister Abigail at some point, but quite a bit of the luster would have come off that match had Balor lost.
