I keep expecting Brawn’s King Kong roar last night, but it never materialized. Instead, Finn got buried by Kane.
The SD invasion angle piqued my interest, but…
Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar - Jinder hasn’t had any matches where he’s squashed his opponent like Brock has, and Brock is getting lazy and his matches are yawners. If this is the last match of the night, I can go to bed early.
Miz vs Corbin - if Miz manages to get under Corbin’s skin and they play on the psychology thereof, this could be really fun to watch.
Bliss vs Natalya - head cheerleader vs frumpy home ec teacher: may be good for some laughs, but I will reserve judgment until later.
2/3 Shield vs Usos - I think this will steal the show.
RAM women with Alicia Fox as captain makes things interesting. The promos of her throwing shade on the other girls and bossing them around have great potential. Carmella could have the same effect as SD team captain.
RAM men vs SD men - I have a weird idea on this. They could have an angle where instead of the mumps, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt actually got infected with a zombie virus and transmitted it to the other missing stars like Brawn Stroman, Big Cass, and Samoa Joe, and they appear as The Walking Dead and scare away the SD team.
Someone else asked me about this match, and the italicized part is nearly an exact quote of what I said.
Somehow, I came out of the invasion bit hoping that the Men’s Survivor Series match will end with “Sole Survivor for Raw: Curt Hawkins!”
Never, ever happen, but that’d be a heck of a way to end the losing streak.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have something like this planned just in case they’re short on time, and they change it to a straight 10-man tag on Monday Nitraw (not to be confused with Monday Night Row) the following night. There was a PPV back in the day where a 5-on-5 tag (I can’t remember if it was a Survivor Series match or not, but I don’t think it was) that got cancelled because the heel team “couldn’t agree on which one of them would be the team captain.”
Speaking of which…remember when 10-man tag matches were so rare that one of them got onto a “WWF’s Strangest Matches” video? Then again, the same tape had a woman’s battle royal.
I miss the old 90s survivor series where it was all the roster in the tag matches on thanksgiving
Although does the wwe even have enough people to do that anymore ?
Jindar vs. Brock makes no sense in itself so they’ll have to plan massive interference or make it a 15 second match.
The invasion? Well interesting situation, Brock, Brawn, and Kane could go destroy the SmackDown roster tonight, except they hate each other. So if RAW invades tonight I expect that the SD gang will be lying in wait for them.
I figured it’s pretty patently obvious that the captains of the 2 slur-vivor series teams are just going to be Shane and Angle. Makes sense now right?
Although I’m sure that just leaves DB all the more angry. I am 100% opposed to him ever wrestling again, but I can at least see his frustration.
No retaliation from RAM yet, but DBD dropped ominous hints at the end of the broadcast. Maybe he’ll be the SD Judas and let the infiltrators in through the back door while Shane dines with his 12 disciples.
Maybe Breezango will discover DBD’s betrayal and do an Escape From New York scenario to get the evidence to Shane before the RAM invasion. Only they won’t get there in time because they won’t be able to think of a way to work “Fashion” into the movie title.
Upon watching it last night, I’m now just assuming this is the beginning of the Shane and DB backstage feud that eventually leads to DB leaving the company, his contract is up in Feb right?
I thought it was September 2018.
But yeah, Kurt runs RAW without any interference or even appearances by Stephanie, while Shane shows up when he wants, walks all over DBD and doesn’t even consult him on decisions. By all rights, that should be leading to a feud, but with them refusing to allow DBD to wrestle, it likely won’t lead anywhere.
A lot of ways this could turn out. WWE might let him in the ring in some kind of protected situation like they did with Kurt on Sunday night, but I don’t see him accepting that kind of thing as a reason to stay on. Some kind of deal where he turns on SmackDown and moves to RAW could be in the works. Or if he’s definitely leaving next year this could be the start of something that will play out at the Mania. But whatever happens, if they won’t let Daniel do what he wants and he plans to leave so he can wrestle elsewhere then everything they do with him from here on out will be based on that eventual departure.
I wonder what Daniel would do if his appearances on Total Bellas paid more than working Indie matches.
According to a podcast I heard this morning, the latest rumor (and it’s even in the early stages of rumor) is that WWE is thinking of rebooting the NWO. This is mostly to try and combat the bullet club shirts that are in the audience and try and replace them with their own shtick.
Not a bad idea to try in theory. Bullet Club is basically Japanese/ROH NWO anyway, so why not try to do the same thing you did originally? Smart money is that it would be made up of Finn/AJ/Gallows/Anderson; basically the Bullet Club.
I’d be for it, what say ya’ll?
They already have their own Balor Club shirts. All he has to do is reconnect with the Good Brothers, then a series of matches against AJ to recruit him, right? 
Nah, reforming old stables never works. Remember Bradshaw and Windham as the new Blackjacks? Jannety and Snow as the new Rockers? Jimmy Garvin a Freedbird? No? Exactly.
In other news, Dubba J has checked into rehab. Hopefully he’ll stick with it.
Because that worked so well when TNA Impact Anthem Whatever It’s Called This Week tried it with Aces & Eights (and was it ever even mentioned again more than one week after it was officially killed off?).
