Oh.well…look at that
Trailer for new Roddy Piper documentary: 80's Themed Trailer, Roddy Piper: In His Own Words - YouTube
The 30 for 30 documentary on Ric Flair premieres Tuesday 10/7 at 10 PM Eastern (scheduled for 90 minutes).
I’m sure ya’ll see the spoiler beforehand, but I’ll just say a pretty big upset/deal is happening tonight on Smackdown tonight that is weird and confusing on lots of levels…
I’ve got three guesses about the world title change;
- Someone managed to get Vince to realize that Brock vs. Jinder would be a bad idea
- Jinder’s getting the belt back at the upcoming show in India
) Jinder’s getting a wellness suspension tomorrow
Either way, Survivor Series just got better.
I want AJ to beat Lesnar so badly.
I hadn’t considered #3, but with all the backne on display tonight, I guess that I wouldn’t be surprised.
But I have been lobbying in several places for the idea of Jinder losing the belt before the India tour and then winning it back -as a face- in India would make more of an impact with the Indian fans and media. He can drop it to someone else a week or two after the tour.
We need the ‘move countering’ AJ Styles vs. Brock. The AJ who kept up with everything Cena did and more in the ring and looked like a million bucks doing it. But I don’t know if Brock would be capable of working with that style of wrestling or if he’d be willing to do it.
Guess I’ll stay up for the last match after all. WWE seems to have finally realized how much of a valuable asset AJ Styles is.
I’m not cool with them having Sheamus and Thetharo win the RAM belts, however. I was really looking forward to Shield vs Usos. I also hate, hate, hate the overused babyface-gets-his-leg/arm/ribs-hurt angle. The Usos should not have their move set limited like that. Now the SS match is going to be 75% stomping on Uso’s leg. Bronx cheer, everybody. PLPLPLPLPLPLPLPLP!!!
Harper: This world is a horrible place.
Rowan: We’re here to make it worse.
I love this! This is like the first few weeks of the Wyatt Family before WWE totally fucked up their heat.
Shane McMahon has selected the final member of Team SmackDown for the men’s competition at Survivor Series: Free agent John Cena.
So we’re looking at Shane McMahon, John Cena, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura for SmackDown against Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, and Jason Jordan for RAW.
The rumor I’m hearing is that the world title change actually happened at Brock’s insistence. He supposedly told Vince that him vs. Jinder wasn’t going to draw and was a waste of his time, and threatened to no-show unless they changed the match.
It certainly sounds like something Brock would say, and he’s probably one of the few people with enough clout to pull something like that on Vince, so I can certainly believe it. It does kinda make you feel bad for Jinder if he lost the belt and his push because of backstage politics.
I came in to post this exact thing. It’s fortuitous because a Brock/Jinder match would just be the woooooorst. We all know that I’m actually a Jinder fan, and I haven’t hated his run as champion at all, but even I can’t be excited for a not-THAT-good-of-a-wrestler Jinder versus lazy-and-comfortable-no-sell-Brock. At least AJ will bring some excitement to the fold.
Besides, now Jinder can just win the belt back in India as a face.
Anyone hear that they sent KO and Sami home from Europe because they didn’t follow the script? Between this and the fact they aren’t doing anything at SS makes me think something is up storyline wise. They’re going to screw over Smackdown or something like that
Possibly…but I don’t think McMahon/Dunn play to the internet smarks. And at the end of the day, every angle runs through them. The people giving us Jason Jordan/Kurt Angle are not that subtle.
Lesnar/AJ has potential, if Lesnar plays along. AJ can provide enough action as long as Lesnar does some selling. Shield lost the titles so that they and New Day can have a 6-man at SS. That’s got a lot of potential, and I don’t think we lose anything with Sheamus/Cesaro versus Usos.
I’m at a DEFY show in Seattle right now and they taped a match that’s going to air on Impact on the 30th (Sami Callihan vs. Randy Meyers), so I guess now I’ve been to a TNA show.
Anthem must be running low on funds if they have to start airing indy matches to fill time, but maybe this’ll get some more exposure for the PNW wrestling scene. And it was a pretty good match, so watch Impact on the 30th (if you can stomach it) and get yourself a taste of what’s been going on in Washington Hall.
Yeah, Impact’s been doing that a lot lately–there’s 1-2 matches per show that are from other promotions, probably a combination of cost savings and the struggle of trying to tape 6-8 weeks worth of matches in 3-4 days.
But you might feel ripped off, Anthem was actually paying people to attend the last batch of Impact tapings.
In other news, Lucha Underground announced that Season 4 will be happeing, no details that I’ve heard of other than the announcement tweet.
Impact had to pay people to go into the audience because they didn’t do it here at Universal where they already have a solid fan/attendance base. Nor will they in the future because they unfortunately announced they are now officially going Canadian and will be moving operations up north. So no more Impact tapings for me. I’m actually pretty heartbroken over it. I loved going to those things. I saw A LOT of kickass people because of it.
wow impacts sounding more like the last days of the awa more and more …
Well, this is interesting. Jason Jordan/Angle was injured by Bray Wyatt, then after much drama between he and work daddy Kurt, HHH announced he was taking his place at SS. I can’t help but think Jason is going to be buried deep enough to reach China after all this is said and done. Did WWE intend to go with Jason in SS all along but change their mind after seeing him get booed? Did they decide to reverse the Roman Push at the 11th hour? HHH still has some mileage as the hardnosed authority figure, and I suspect he’ll lead RAM’s invasion of SD tonight. I’m actually feeling markish for this PPV.
Or will Jason Jordan throw a fit, attack Trips and cost them the match?
I figure it’s just a way for HHH and Angle to wrestle at 'Mania
