Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

I forgot to ask…on the chopping block how? Like they’ll be let go? Or just leave (like everyone else seems to be)

As in they will not likely to have their contracts renewed because Anthem is trying to make Impact stop losing money, which means they can’t afford to pay more than one or two people we’ve heard of at a time. But unlike the previous administration, they have the decency to let the talent know this ahead of time instead of just not paying them.

Impact’s going to sign up more Canadian talent. I guess that will take away some Visa fees. Dutch Mantell is also gone, and Don Callis is taking his place. Callis was Cyrus, I think his name was, who managed the Oddities in WWE for about 5 minutes. He’s been on Talk is Jericho a few times.

Wonder if EC3 will make his way back to WWE? He’s got the looks and mic skills, but would probably go no higher than Ascension level.

If I have one guarantee above all guarantees, it’s that Daniel Bryan will never ever ever wrestle in WWE again.

Recent plotlines are starting to get me to think that I might actually be wrong.

I’m still sticking by my story, but I’ve gone from 100% sure to somewhere in the lower 70s

If he helps Team Yep win, I could see Shane firing him from GMent, but not from being a “sports entertainer.” Or he’s fired from SD, but not RAM.

So, he puts on his tights, goes to RAM to get revenge on Miz and possibly Kane, gets bonked really hard on the head, and they draw out a concussion angle that makes us cry.

Got my first taste of Lio Rush last night at the NXT live event. Dude is short! It may have helped (hurt?) his cause that he was going against “Brazilian Tupac” who was a good foot taller than him, but he was still super short looking. He’s pretty cut though, definitely has a Finn Balor body style.

The other interesting bit of the night was they had a camera guy filming a bunch of it. They also gave away “We are NXT” rally towels to the first handful of people who came into the venue. We’ve been going to various house shows for years and have never seen that before. And the last time I can remember them filming anything was during the Inaugural Dusty Tournament where they would do some of the matches at house shows.

They filmed most of the matches who had big stars so I couldn’t tell you who they were actually there for. Two out of Three of both Absolution and the Riott* squad were there, Hideo was there and we saw Shayna Baszler too. They could be getting film for any number of them. Mrs. Cups’ prediction is that either AOP or Riddick Moss/Tino Sabetelli is getting called up this Sunday, her bet is AOP. I don’t believe her, but I’m putting it here so you all know it was predicted beforehand.

Speaking of Riddick Moss, holy shit someone stuck the hose up his ass and filled him with about 20 pounds of water. Dude looked puffy as hell. Plus his neck-to-shoulder muscles (deltoids? I think?) were absolutely huge. We’ve seen this dude pretty consistently over the past 3 or 4 years and he’s never looked that swollen or freakin huge.

*Why do they spell Ruby Riott with two T’s? It’s to go with her two A’s

Meanwhile, the state of Delaware is mad at Enzo Amore because his signature looks like a dick.

He is a dick, so it is an appropriate signature.

Did Rockstar Spud sign with WWE? Because I read that and don’t believe it at aaaalllll

Spud is 205 Live bound. I was hoping he’d wind up as somebody’s psychologically tortured valet, like Miz or Rusev, but he’ll probably wind up carrying Enzo’s jock strap.

Well, I think Shelton Gable and Aiden Rusev proved they can go with the Usos and New Day, but I was worried about how Gable was dropping people on their heads with those suplexes.

Am I the only one who thinks that they need less clusters and more one-vs-one matches? Even the Women’s Championship is a cluster because of the lumberjacks. I understand that is how more people get PPV bonuses, but the only true 1v1 with no outside shenanigans might be Ryder vs Riley, though one could hope for a clean Styles vs Mahal.

Yeah, the whole night has been a clusterfuck of getting everyone possible on the show.

Except my future ex-wife Becky Lynch, apparently. (Ah, but she’s off filming a movie no one will see; Marine 6)

Bash Bros vs Breezango was straight, but it was always going to be a squash.

Am I alone in thinking Tribute to the Troops was better than the last couple of PPVs?

Nope

It’s like you guys have been saying. WWE has too much of a glut of talent, and trying to cram it all into one show is the Phantom Menace effect - too much window dressing. Now matter how pretty it looks, it looks like crap when piled a mile high.

Jinder Mahal is a prime example of this. AJ Styles is honest talent. Jinder is an action figure with a million dollar FX budget.

Tom “Z-Man” Zenk passed away at 59. He opened Wrestlemania III teaming with Ric Martel (the Can-Am Connection) but left WWF soon after. Had runs in Japan, AWA, and WCW but never really caught on.

Enzo Amore makes a Song of the South reference in the middle of Gulak’s match with Cedric Alexander??? :dubious:

didn’t he team with pillman a bit in wcw ? wow he was young in wm 3 tho …
