Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

He would hardly be the first, and most certainly not the last, highly paid performer living well beyond his means. Also, it is possible the issue is cash flow, not net worth.

Apparently the Full Sail marks finally ruined NXT for the rest of us. Because of the recent announced tapings in Atlanta, we aren’t going to have any NXT tapings in town until APRIL.

I, and the rest of the non-asshole crew down here, fully blame the marks and feel this is WWEs way of getting different people on camera because it takes just a few to ruin it for the rest of us.

We have a house show in a few weeks and Smackdown in January, but other than that I got nuthin. Between Anthem leaving us and NXT following suit, I’m basically like the rest of you, ugh, “normal” people and I won’t have access to easy wrestling for months!

Alternately, how cool is it that wrestling is now returning to Center Stage Theater, home of THE MOTHERSHIP! WCW Saturday Night?

Best tune in at 6:05 PM Eastern on TBS, y’all marks.

STC, you are massively spoiled. You’ll just have to settle for Orlando’s 15 zillion theme parks.

WWE’s not going to pass up the opportunity to have NXT sell out bigger venues. Besides, the performers have to get used to a busy travel schedule.

I just now read (or at least realized) the lineup for Clash of Champions and, hoo boy, I have not been less excited for a WWE show than God knows how long. Literally every match is just a repeat of matches we’ve seen 1000 times. EVen the Usos/New Day can’t get me excited.

Looks like that’ll be some background noise…

Meanwhile in Seattle, the city council has just approved a $600 million (all-privately funded!) renovation of Key Arena, which means Seattle likely won’t be getting any WWE shows for a few years unless they run Everett or the Tacoma Dome. :frowning:

They threw in Gable and Benjamin for the TTTs, but IMO they haven’t clicked as well as Gable & Jordan. Gable’s turning out to be a decent heel, and I hope they reunite him with Jordan after his RAM angle plays out and they become the dominant heel team, but it’s not in the stars.

Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler could be good, as all three would backstab each other repeatedly and rejoice in doing so.

Mahal and Natalya are enhancement talent now, so little thrill for those matches. No reason why Styles and Flair shouldn’t be SD champions for the next decade.

Did you mean 10 days, because that is how long title reigns last in WWE?

Yes, “WWE Decade” = 10 days.

Woot! Matt Hardy is Broken/Woken and he saved Bray Wyatt’s career! I’m happy again.

Lol, that was damned funny.

During the Dolph Ziggler promo with Bobby Rude and Baron Corbin, a woman in the audience screamed “I’m on fiyah!”, then some guy screamed “She’s on fire, Dolph!”

I wonder if Dolph can use “I’m on fiah” in his promos, or is that phrase legally owned by the Crickets?

Not an on-screen “superstar,” but it’s rumored that Jim Johnston (the guy who wrote most of the classic WWF entrance themes) was “future endeavored” by the WWE.
I hope the parting was amicable, because he needs to be in the WWE hall of fame.

Definitely heard that he was. It’s sad to an extent because he is such an institution there, but CFO$ is making kickass themes and probably have a better idea on what will reach millennials than someone who’s been there for 30 years.

Yeah, my understanding was that it was essentially a case of Jim wanting to stay, but the WWE didn’t renew his contract since they are using mostly CFO$ now.

BTW, looks like Impact is back in Orlando in January for the next set of tapings. No idea who will be there, since current rumors are that EC3 and Eddie Edwards may be next on the chopping block.

Early news this morning is that Rich Swann has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and battery.

No details yet, but from the info available this sounds like a domestic incident, and if so, he’s probably out on his ass.

And Swann is suspended. He was going to wrestle on Raw, but obviously that isn’t going to happen.

In other news, Triple H won’t put over Jinder Mahal in India. Time to reform the 3-Man Band?

Between the Homie and Michael Elgin, it hasn’t been a good week/weekend for indie darlings.

Wonder if Swann sang “Can you handle this” when he drug his old lady back to the car?

CFO$ (the song writing duo) are listed as Executive Producers for music in WWE, so they’re running that show and didn’t need Jimmy Johnson anymore. They’ve also apparently had songs done by Train, Goo Goo Dolls and a couple of other bands.
