Hogan? Fuck Hogan. He’s 64 years old and still thinks he can come back and headline Wrestlemania. Or go be the star of the Bullet Club in Japan.
And they didn’t “future endeavor” him, either.
The man was hated in the locker room, but loved by audiences, so they made him the star of 205 Live to bring attention to it and gave him a ton of TV time. He was moved over in August and he’s known since October that he was being investigated for rape - a felony - and WWE didn’t find out until they got blindsided by it the day of RAW 25. Bad PR on the day of a big, two location celebration show.
Assuming that he didn’t do it, he’s still not coming back anytime soon. I dunno how many of the Indies would want him around, but he could make some money that way, or try being an MC/DJ. If he really has all those star friends he says he has, he’ll be ok.
If he’s convicted, I’d hope that he had some WWE money left when he gets out of jail, but;
1> reading about his lifestyle, he probably doesn’t have a dime now, and
2> Attorneys ain’t cheap.
WWE isn’t going to be happy hearing “Convicted Rapist and former WWE Star…”
Beats me if he did it but not telling WWE about it was the kind of stupid thing he has a reputation for. I won’t miss him, his gimmick went stale quickly.
Well, the Straight to the Source from January 8th is still on the Network. That’s the one where he lies by careful misdirection about being kicked off the European tour bus.
Good riddance. 205 Live didn’t need to become the Zo show. Now I don’t feel so slimy after watching it.
I hope they return to the tournament atmosphere that was more Daniel Bryan’s influence. Maybe they’ll storyline him out of the SD GM position to helm 2L.
I understand that re-writes take time, but the Cruiserweight problem was already set up. You already have a number 1 contender, so give him a bye to the finals and hold a tournament to determine the other contender. Pro-wrasslin’ (sports entertainment) ain’t rocket science. I do understand not having a ready commissioner, so maybe they simply chose to wait until one is named to do a tournament.
2 things of note:
-
Apparently this next week’s 205 Live will have a General Manager announcement (it needs one of those?) and an announcement on the title.
-
Today at 3 there will be a “major sports announcement” from Vince…presumably about the XFL.
Misdirection, I tells ya. He’ll be announcing the sale of WWE to me for $5.
If you need help raising the funds, I’ll go in for half.
I bet Vince came up with a way to script football. It will be like 80’s Rollerderby on ESPN.
There will be face teams and heel teams. Head coaches and team owners will be faces and heels, but their alignments may be different from the team’s. Heel players will cheat while the refs have their heads turned, and there will be no instant replay. QBs will have fabulous hair. Bodyslams, spears, and clotheslines will be allowed for tackles. Kickers will be spoiled girlymen brought in via palanquin. Forward passes will be bounced around Harlem Globetrotter style. Defensive linemen will explode through gangs of blockers like Big Show vs midgets. Heels will ambush faces as they go to their locker room and videos of those beatdowns will be shown during halftime. Masks will be legal so long as they match team colors. The attacked faces will return in the 4th quarter limping and push off medics, then pull off Hail Mary plays. Cheerleaders will have their own angles and reality shows. There will be teams from other planets.
you know the sad thing? if vince did OG ECW football like you described l that id watch it more than the nfl … paul heyman and tommy dreamer as commishes … Espn tho didnt have the “rollergames” thing it was syndicated and on prime ticket
Ktla 5 had it before THE WCW syndicated show think it was world wide…
The path has been cleared for Rick Swann to return to WWE. All charges have been dropped.
Even so it’s going to be close to an Adam Rose position for him. Come back to less push and be let go for the slightest excuse in the future.
That’s pretty much a given. Unless one is in the “Vinnie’s boys” big man group, that’s always been the way. Hell, even Triple H dealt with it back in the day for a much lesser offense.
Now that you mention it, I think it was on Home Team Sports back when that channel existed. I just lumped all sports channels together as ESPN I guess.
Think of me on Sunday for men’s rumble entrant #5 and women’s entrant number 24.
These are who I have in my respective pools. I win $300 if I win. Not too hyped about 5, but 24 could be good.
Well isn’t this some serendipity… RoH’s episode earlier today was taped in Phillie, where Bubba Ray Dudley gave his “leave his boots” speech because he got his career start there via ECW. Now, Paul Heyman introduces NXT:Takeover taking place from Phillie, referencing ECW. Schweet!
AoP is going to Royal RUmble and main roster and War Machine is taking their place. There I said it first.
Gol Dangit, Cole vs Black was fucking epic! Those guys took some sick bumps, especially Cole getting flipped back first on top of those chairs mounted with such a sharp angle. You guys earned your paychecks tonight!
