My neice gave us a copy of this movie. I like both Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt in the other movies I’ve seen them in. Brad Pitt is actually a decent actor and not just a pretty boy.
But this movie really stunk. It was so boring. It started with a good idea: a man knows he’s going to die, spends a week with “death”. They could have done so many amazing things with that. They did nothing but waste…what was it…3 hours of my life. I was waiting for a great plot twist to come that never came. It was soooooooooooo boring.
Anyone agree with me.
Meet Joe Black sucks syphilitic llama balls.
Thank you. There are few movies I hate this much. The Bodyguard is the only one I can think of.
The one thing that made this movie worthwhile is the scene where Brad Pitt got hit by not 1 but 2 cars! It totally caught me offguard. I rewound that scene like 10 times. I downloaded it off scour too. CRAZY STUFF!!!
Brad pitt is a good actor. I don’t mean to say that I was excited to see him die. It was just a crazy scene. I can’t wait to see him in snatch though.
I hated that movie. It was extremely stupid and bored me to death. Yick. And I don’t think Brad Pitt is really even attractive. Though that scene where she removed his shirt was not too bad.
I thought it would be good, Brad Pitt is a great actor. But they spent so much time in that movie not saying anything where the camera was just focused on two people looking at each other. SOMETHING HAPPEN PLEASE!!!
Anyway, I was the same way, waiting and waiting for an interesting plot twist that never came…
I second the motion. That was the only good scene in the whole damn movie.
This is what you people deserve for seeing a movie that you know damn well I’m not going to like… err… or something like that.
The only reason I sat all the way through it was that the only other option would have been to leave the airplane at about 35,000 ft. above the Pacific Ocean. I was tempted, though. What the fuck was the deal with the peanut butter, though? Never could understand that part.
The only reason I even watched this movie was for Anthony Hopkins and he couldn’t even save it. I made myself watch it though thinking maybe, just maybe something would happen but nope nothing happened. Clair Forlani (sp?) was absolutely terrible, just blank throughout the entire movie. And a quick mention of the ending, what were they thinking to end it that way?? I won’t say how they ended it but the people who saw it know what I’m talking about. This was one bad movie from start to finish!
I’m going to be talking about the ending of the film, so don’t read this thread if you are actually crazy enough to want to see the film.
When I saw the movie, large portions of the audience (who were only there for the trailer to The Phantom Menace) cheered when Brad Pitt’s character was killed.
What exactly is Claire Forlani’s character supposed to say to the guests as she walks back to the birthday party at the end?: “Hi, I have two items of news. First, the guest of honor just died. Second, I want you to meet my new boyfriend. He was killed in a terrible auto accident a couple days ago, but he’s all better now.”

Motion carried!
FINALLY!
My wife loves this piece of dreck. I say it doesn’t hold a candle to the original (Death Takes A Holiday, for you youngsters). Even the premise of Joe Black makes no sense. He wants to see the world? How many millenia has Death been around? He hasn’t seen the world yet? Give me a break!
I was subjected to it on an airplane on my way back from Ukraine. This movie is so bad that it should have melted the film it was printed on.
IIRC, it was the first movie in the D.C. area to carry the trailer for Star Wars Episode one, so people flocked to it in droves, watched the trailer, and then left as soon as the movie got unbearable (after 10 minutes, max).
