I can wear necklaces and pins, since they go on or over clothing, but can’t stand rings, bracelets, watches, or earrings; I don’t like the feel of them against my skin.
Every day before I leave the house (Even if I’m just in sweats) I put on my bracelet, my earrings, my necklace, my wedding ring and my right-hand-ring. I can’t stand to be out of the house with out them.
BUT, as soon as I get home I take them all off. haha
No festoonery for me, please. I had a ring once - for about a month, before I lost it due to my incessant fiddling with it.
I hate things round my neck. I wore a necklace my grandmother left me, for quite a while but it was ok because it was quite long.
Last week was my birthday and the child gave me a very short (almost choker length ) necklace. It is driving me nuts. It feels like it is strangling me, but I will have to wear it for at least a month so I don’t hurt his feelings.
AHHHHHHHH I can’t breathe. I say we boycott jewelery everywhere.
I too, fidget with rings or bracelets, but necklaces and earrings don’t bother me. Because of my job, I rarely wear jewelry though. Usually only when I “get dolled up” to go out.
Not sure if it’s a “phobia” though.
One of my other problems with jewelry is the sheer silliness factor. I mean, think about it. It’s a ROCK for Pete’s sake!!! Okay, some are very pretty rocks, but still.
And I’m not much of a fan of diamonds either. If I were to have a “precious” stone, I’d much rather have one of the colored ones. Rubies, Emeralds, sapphires.
As it is, IMHO? I think costume jewelry is cuter and more fun to wear.
