Are you wearing rings?

I am… my senior ring from high school. Yep I have held on to it for thirty some odd years. I realize that dates me but I am really proud that I have been able to hold on to it for so long. I have never worn alot of rings.

Never wore a wedding ring.

I had a small flirtation with a diamond ring that I had made with a carot diamond from my late dad’s old masonic ring. But after wearing it for a while I began to feel like a river boat gambler so it’s in my safety deposit box.

Don’t wear a watch either.

Wedding ring.

Do I win a prize?

How many people in this thread who are wearing wedding rings take them off to wash dishes? My mother and grandmother always maintained that a Good Woman never took her wedding ring off for a moment, even to wash dishes, but I take mine off for that all the time.

I never got a high school class ring. I didn’t want to spend that much of my parent’s money.

My engagement and wedding rings are in a box for safe keeping. My ring size changed with my first pregnancy and I just can’t bring myself to have them sized again. They were sized once originally and don’t want to weaken them any further. Weird, I know.

I had a sterling ring that used to wear that was hand crafted in the Ozarks. I got it at Silver Dollar City. It got lose on my hand at one point. Then one day I took a nap on the couch and when I woke up it was gone. I have never found it. We don’t live in that house anymore and the couch has been given away, so I’ll probably never find it. I think a pixie stole it.

So, um, no. Actually jewelry kind of irritates me. I take it off as soon as I can when I do wear it, earrings, watches, bracelets, and especially necklaces. I have no jewelry on at this moment.

I wear a gold family crest ring. It’s got a shield with lions on either side, a crown on top, a banner on top that says something like “Virtue Through Strength” in Latin and another on the bottom that looks like it says SPECTE MUR AGENDA(?). Itty-bitty lettering, so I might be misreading it.

I wear my wedding ring and engagement ring – they’re the only pieces of jewelry I wear.

I did get my class ring in high school, but stopped wearing it after graduation (still a keepsake, though). I have friends who still wear it and I find it kind of strange/sad. (These are people who actually miss going to high school. Don’t ask me what’s wrong with them.)

The ring I wear most often is a topaz one that my parents bought me from the Museum Company. I usually only but it on for special events, when I’m feeling down, or when I need some extra luck, because I’m afraid of losing it. (I used to have a ring from my late grandmother – the “stone” was a blue butterfly’s wing covered in glass – that I wore all the time and subsequently lost.) I almost always have a necklace on, however. Right now, I’m wearing my St. Brigid’s cross from confirmation.

(Bloke) Wedding ring. I don’t take it of to wash dishes. One ring is enough for a bloke IMHO.

nope, no rings here, but I cannot stand to go anywhere without my watch on… .I’ve had the same one for 3 years, and I only take it off when I shower, sleep, swim, and do everything with it on-

I have a deep italian tan on my entire body from kayaking and biking, but my watch line is completely glow-n-the-dark white :stuck_out_tongue:

I wear a wedding band and my watch. My HS ring has been in my jewelry box all but the first year after graduation (class of '72)

My wedding band is wide, and if my hands are in water a lot, I take it off because the moisture stays trapped under it and it irritates my skin. My engagement rind is an opal - I rarely wear it. I just don’t like jewelry…

Nimue sed:

Maybe they are like me and are just proud of their alma mater and the fact that they have a high school education.

Nope. No rings. Right now I wear very little if any jewelry. I have plenty, still have my class ring, my mother’s engagement ring and wedding band, my dad’s wedding band, my grandmother’s wedding ring. Someday I’ll get in the mood to wear it again but right now I don’t have time to be bothered with it.

My college graduation ring never somes off.

I only wear one ring… its pretty demure… It’s solid gold “nugget” style rectangle about a quarter inch high, and inch wide and stretches across all four fingers (in fact it has loops for all four fingers) and it says “Pimp Daddy Playa’” Weighs 2 1/4 pounds!

I only wear the one so as not to be flashy. Don’t get me started on my chains though!

For years I wore a wide gold wedding band, even after we split up. Eventually I had to sell it. I now wear a wide silver band that has a line like a grove running around the middle of it. On the middle finger next to it, I wear a thin silver band that looks like it came from the groove. Such is my view of life.

One wedding ring. I only take it off when I shower. I’ve finally begun to develop a tanline on that finger, which I love.

I own a class ring (college) which I have never worn.

I have not worn a watch since middle school. They used to irritate my skin (metal, plastic, you name it) so I stopped. Used to own a pocketwatch and still own a wrist-one I carry around sometimes. However, I’ve mostly just gotten used to being able to tell the time by paying attention to my surroundings, which drives my wife crazy–although I explain to her “how”, she still doesn’t understand how I do it (I’m never off by more than 10 minutes whenever I get asked cold)

Ultress:

That’s ok pal they would only serve to detract from all that natural beauty.

Archive Guy-
I had the same problem when I used to wear watches, the metal would irritate my skin. I was faced with an ultimatum- either wear a titanium watch (like, $175 for a fossil) or ear a Nylon and Leather band… I chose the latter.

OK I lied. My hands are to fat and pudgy to wear rings and look right.

I wear one small silver ring in a Celtic weave/knot design on my pointer finger. I got it as a vacation gift over the sunmmer and haven’t worn anything else since. I do take it and my watch off to do the dishes and shower, etc.
I don’t have a school ring, but am getting one this year (huzzah!). I’m a ring person, so I guess I’ll wear it for a while.

My tanline from my wedding ring is gone, along with the little callus that built up where my palm met my finger.
Now I wear a Claddagh ring which was a gift from the jeweler who sold both me and my parents our wedding rings.
