Are you wearing rings?

I have a simple silver band on my left middle finger and a platinum band with a roughly two karat cabashan (sp?) cut sapphire on my right ring finger. The first was given to me by an ex-boyfriend that had great taste but who I do not miss dating. The second was given to me by my parents for my eighteenth birthday. Neither comes off unless I am dealing with harsh chemicals (like when I dye my hair).

I have a class ring from high school, but I haven’t worn it in years. I keep it in my jewelry box because I don’t have the heart to get rid of it, but I really can’t find too much aesthetically pleasing about it, and I have no nostalgia for high school.

I don’t like to wear rings. They annoy me.

I wore my wedding band for a year or so after I got married, then pretty much stopped wearing it. My husband and I also got beautiful matching silver rings in Arizona on our second anniversary, but I have mostly stopped wearing that, too. He has tendinitis in his ring finger a the moment, so he wears neither ring. I’ll put them on if I think of it, but I don’t usually think of it.

Heck, my folks don’t wear rings, and their 37th anniversary is in a week, so I guess wearing a wedding ring is not that important.

I have a few heirloom rings, but they stay in the jewelry box. I never got a class ring, mainly because I knew I wouldn’t wear it.

I wear a claddagh ring that quietgirl got me for my 18th birthday. She wears an identical one. I take it of for showers/dishwashing, but other than that it’s always on my finger.

Ad Noctum-
Being 12 at the time, I came up with the ingenious solution of wearing a blue fuzzy sweatband under my watch. I may have been fashion impaired back then, but even I knew that looked bad.

I used to wear rings on all of my fingers. Always well manicured, polished nails, and lots of rings. Suited my personality at the time. I lost my zest for wearings rings when my four favourites disappeared after I took them off to do the dishes.

Now, I have one black alaskan diamond ring that I love. I wear it all the time, and that’s the only one that I wear. People compliment me on it all the time.

I’m a big ring junkie. I have probably a dozen at least. Most of them are big ol’ singular semi-precious stones set in silver, some marcasite, a couple of diamond. Switch 'em around according to what I’m wearing.

Yep! I wear a silver one with an amethyst on my right pinky, a silver Celtic band on my right ring finger, and a Goddess moonstone ring on my left ringer. Once I lose some weight, I’ll start wearing my college ring again.

I wear two rings at all times. My wedding ring which is a very plain gold ring and my Mother’s Ring. My husband bought me my Mother’s ring after we had our daughter and we knew we wouldn’t be having any more kids. Though I have only two kids my ring has three birthstones, I added my husband to it because he is like a big kid at times. It’s gold with September-December-September birthstones. I never ever take either one of them off mostly because I am so used to wearing them both I now feel naked without them on.

Not at the moment; I hate wearing rings when I type. I take them off for gym class, too (I forgot to put my bracelet and ring back on Thursday, so they sit in my stinky locker…ugh).

I used to wear rings on every finger, but now I only wear 1-3 on my left hand. I had a beautiful silver snake ring. It was practically as thin as a spider web strand. I called it my Diego ring since I bought it in Mexico and no one has worn it except me and this little boy at an orphanage whose name was Diego. Unfortunately, I was playing soccer at youth group and the ball went flying at my head, so I put my hand up to block it. The ball ended up hitting the snake head and bending it in an odd way so I can’t wear it now. sigh

Now I wear a purple ring on my pinky that says Hosanna, my class ring on my ring finger, and my cheesy Avon ring my friend found in her room and gave me. It’s a gorgeous ring, very Gothic-looking with a bunch of black jewels.

I don’t wear any, and only will wear one in my life: a wedding band, if/when I get married.

My wife and I have matching wedding bands from Dublin, Ireland…she wears hers pretty much all the time, I’m not a big ring person…so I wear mine when I’m at work…but when I get home, the watch and the ring come off…Still have my college ring, just stopped wearing it awhile ago, got uncomfortable…

Never got a college or high school ring.

I constantly wear a silver ring with a round piece of amber that I got in Poland. I have another similar one with green amber that I wear occasionally. I bought them from the woman who made them, under a bridge, in Gdansk. She threw in the green one for free because “it matches you.”

Mom gave me a pearl ring for my 17th birthday. I wear it when I wear the pearls she gave me for graduation, which happens about once a year.

I’ve lost so many rings over the years it’s unbelievable. Where do they go?

I wear my wedding ring, a plain gold band. I do not take it off. I also have a small topaz ring on my right hand.

Oh, I wear a thumb ring, too, that I got from Avon. It’s got rams on it–my husband’s astrological sign (Aries). I also wear a toe ring, on the second toe of my left foot. It’s got a pentagram on it.

Anyone else just looooove thumb & toe rings?

I have 5 rings and all of them are silver bands with designs on them (I can’t stand gold) and I wear them all the time (except for when I go swimming, etc.) so I have those little tan lines on 5 of my fingers. A lot of people think that so many rings would be a pain in the ass but they’re not… when I’m not wearing them my fingers feel nekkid. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have 7. 3 silver ones on my left, 2 with some kind of red stone and one with a purple one (they’re fake). There’s a glittery jelly ring under one of them to mak it fit better.
My right hand- a gold one with little diamonds and this hugeass peridot, a silver thingie i got out of a bubble gum machine thingie, and a silver one with some celtic design on.

I never take them off unless it’s a situation where I think i might loose them.

oh yeah, when I do take them off, I have tan lines **and **little indentations. Hehe.

I never liked to wear rings. I didn’t bother getting one in high school (thought it was a waste of money); though I think I’ll probably get a college ring–so I can have one.

prion - me too! I just can’t stand gold. I guess I’ve seen so much fake gold that real gold doesn’t look real.

As for the OP, I wear two rings constantly. My wedding ring is a sterling silver Celtic knot; BunnyPapa has one to match only his has a solid place on the palmside so it wont get caust on anything when he’s at work.
I also wear a silver ring on my little finger. It has an oval shaped(cabochan?) moonstone in it. I wear moonstone because Morgan LeFay also wore one, and she is sort of my hero. Sounds stupid, I know…

o-r-i-o-n-, o-r-i-o-n-, dammit.
That should have been an ‘o’…

Yep, I am. Right now I’m wearing a silver/peridot/diamond ring. I have more, but I never wear the other ones. I don’t really like yellow gold and that’s all I have.

I have gold/diamond:
sapphire
ruby
amethyst
emerald
